Job Brief
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Software Quality Assurance (QA) to lead the enterprise-wide quality strategy across our complex suite of on-premise, cloud/SaaS, and hybrid solutions. This leadership role requires deep expertise in quality engineering, automation frameworks, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering software to highly regulated enterprise customers, such as those in the financial services, insurance, or healthcare sectors.
In this role, you will oversee the execution of a scalable quality program that blends home-grown and 3rd-party automation and test tools, while embedding AI-powered testing strategies. You will lead globally distributed teams, manage system-level testing, and partner with cross-functional agile teams to drive quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle
Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Define and execute QA strategy across multiple platforms (on-prem, cloud, SaaS, hybrid) and products.
- Deliver software in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring security, privacy, and audit-readiness for enterprise customers in regulated industries.
- Design and enforce robust quality frameworks, metrics, and entry/exit criteria across programs and products.
- Partner with product management, engineering, and customer success to align quality goals with business outcomes.
- Drive the adoption of AI/ML technologies in testing to enhance defect prediction, test optimization, and intelligent automation.
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain a mix of custom-built and commercial QA tools, ensuring the toolchain scales across engineering workflows.
- Lead the system-level testing organization, ensuring coverage across end-to-end scenarios while influencing quality ownership within agile scrum teams.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and lead a diverse, distributed QA team across time zones, driving consistency and excellence across locations.
- Establish and maintain documentation of QA policies, SOPs, and quality benchmarks.
- Conduct root cause analysis, identify defect trends, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and publish actionable, executive-level quality dashboards and KPIs. Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects; validate completeness of test coverage and test case execution.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate program-level quality risks.
- Partner with customers to understand their use cases and ensure the team is testing the product according to these use cases
What You Bring to the Table:
- 10+ years of progressive QA leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a Director or higher-level role.
- Demonstrated success in delivering software solutions to highly regulated enterprise environments (e.g., financial services, insurance, healthcare).
- Proven experience with on-prem, cloud-native/SaaS, and hybrid software delivery models.
- Proven track record of a quality transformation.
- Extensive background in using and managing both home-grown test frameworks and commercial QA tools (e.g., Selenium, TestRail, JIRA, Tosca, etc.).
- Deep understanding and implementation experience with AI in quality assurance (e.g., AI-based test generation, predictive QA analytics, autonomous testing).
- Prior experience leading large, distributed QA teams globally, with a focus on operational excellence and team mentorship.
- Strong system-level testing expertise with the ability to influence quality practices in agile product teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a consultative and data-driven approach.
- Experience in enterprise program QA planning, from requirements to UAT.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) is a strong plus.
- Industry experience in insurance or financial services is preferred.
