Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Senior Manager, Finance to join our Finance team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our retail branch network. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the transformation of our distribution model and ensure that our retail presence delivers maximum value to the business, our customers, and our shareholders.

The Senior Manager will act as a key thought partner to both the Director of Finance and the Head of Retail Network Transformation, helping to evaluate opportunities, quantify incremental value, and develop strong business cases that guide investment and strategic decisions. The role will also require measuring and back testing past performance to help influence our future strategy and investment allocation. This role requires strong financial acumen, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic fast paced environment with significant exposure to senior leadership.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Partnership & Analysis

  • Partner closely with the Director of Finance and the Head of Retail Network Transformation on the retail network transformation strategy, ensuring financial insights drive decision-making.
  • Develop and evaluate comprehensive business cases for new branch initiatives, consolidations, investments, and strategic alternatives.
  • Lead incremental value analysis to assess the true impact of strategic initiatives on profitability, customer growth, and long-term shareholder value.

Financial Modeling & Business Case Development

  • Build and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning and decision-making.
  • Provide detailed analysis of branch network performance, including productivity, profitability, and optimization opportunities.
  • Quantify both tangible and intangible benefits of transformation initiatives to enable holistic evaluations.

Branch Network Strategy

  • Partner with the Head of Retail Network Transformation and business teams to assess current branch footprint, identify opportunities for optimization, and align with long-term distribution strategy.
  • Provide forward-looking insights on branch economics, customer behaviors, and market dynamics to inform executive decisions.
  • Support the development of frameworks to evaluate branch-level and market-level value creation.

Cross-functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with leaders across Finance, Strategy, Operations, and Retail Banking to ensure alignment on priorities and outcomes.
  • Influence decision-making by presenting clear, concise, and impactful financial recommendations to stakeholders, including executive management.
  • Provide independent perspective on financial outcomes and risks, ensuring robust challenge and discipline in the decision-making process.

Autonomy & Execution

  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of deliverables and proactively identifying new areas of opportunity.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting a culture of analytical rigor and continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA, CPA, or CFA designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Strategy, or Consulting, with a strong background in financial planning, analysis, and business case development.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale transformation initiatives, ideally in financial services, retail, or other customer-focused industries.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain sophisticated financial models and perform complex analyses.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of branch network economics, customer profitability, and retail distribution strategies (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and present to senior executives.
  • Highly proactive, independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Strong collaboration skills, able to work seamlessly across cross-functional teams.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per week: 40
  • Work Schedule: M - F
