Provide overall leadership for the Global Contract Office team which is responsible for ensuring all documentation, including investment management agreements, investment guidelines, fee schedules and material obligations for institutional accounts are vetted, approved and documented prior to account funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interface globally with external and internal clients to facilitate the contract approval from a legal, regulatory, compliance and operations perspective. Responsible for the review of fee proposals to ensure there are no MFN issues and if so to raise them and any potential impact to the business.
- Develop and maintain all global onboarding and relevant client/contract procedures for both internal and external audit purposes. Partner closely with legal and compliance to ensure regulatory and legal requirements are met.
- Manage the use of communication and compliance with regulatory requirements for company accounting, controls, and procedures across multiple groups. Identify, develop and resolve broad organizational issues and coordinate activities with our global business/operations segments. Act as a central resource for the organization for setting global policy across regions with regards to client onboarding.
- Provide direct oversight and management for the Global Contract Office team and act as a player-coach. Assign and delegate all incoming tasks. Serve as a final reviewer for all departmental assignments and outputs. Provide effective leadership to regional managers incorporating performance management practices through individual performance plans, periodic reviews and feedback sessions, coaching and development.
- Manage special projects involving legal, compliance and/or global initiatives; most of these projects involve the reduction of risk for the corporation which will require interactions with executive management as well as regional CEOs.
- Actively participate in various committees created to streamline processes and reduce organizational risk and exposure, such as the Regional Business Acceptance Council (RBAC), which is responsible for reviewing new business and the approval of fee proposals.
- Also participates in various working groups such as: SOC 1&2 working group, ADV working group, AML working group, Privacy working group and Policy and Procedure working group.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
- Experience managing and negotiating contracts
- Ability to multi-task and manage a diverse workflow
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and reprioritize based on need
- Ability to build consensus among senior business partners in order to move tactical and strategic solutions to completion
- Experience leading a team of individual contributors and people managers
- Ability to understand regulatory environment and compliance regulations in multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to manage high-level relationships across the organization
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
