The Sales and Marketing Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a 24-month program crafted to cultivate your business knowledge, gain on-the-job training and further exposure to senior leaders. Our sales and marketing professionals are critical in driving business growth, client acquisition, and brand awareness. They promote the firm’s investment products and services, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and supporting revenue growth.


Over the course of your program, you will gain exposure to leaders, cultivate your business knowledge, work on projects that directly impact the business you support, and network in a welcoming atmosphere With access to our Business Resource Networks – which includes the Black Employee Network, Young Professionals Network, PRIDE Network – you will increase your own sense of belonging and engage in relevant networking and development opportunities.

The Sales and Marketing LDP will rotate through and completes work within the following business areas over the course of four, 6-month rotations:

  • Marketing

  • Product Development & Management

  • Institutional Distribution

  • Intermediary Sales

After exploring the breadth of the business units through each rotation, LDPs may have the opportunity to post to a permanent position within Columbia Threadneedle Investments.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary depending on current rotation and assigned projects. This could include:

  • Developing and maintaining marketing collateral that effectively communicates our brand, investment capabilities and products to financial advisors and institutional investors.

  • Supporting go-to-market marketing campaigns that effectively reach our target audience through digital, event and in-person activations.

  • Partnering with the Product team to conduct competitive marketplace analysis.

  • Assisting colleagues with data modelling and reporting.

  • Providing general multi-channel sales support.

  • Supporting the sales team with prospect and opportunity analysis and preparation for meetings.

  • Working with Consultant Relations and Relationship Management to provide support to our Institutional clients and consultant relationships.

  • Updating Prospect and Client profiles in account management system working with the Sales and RM teams and using other data available.

  • Creating target client and prospect lists for focus strategies with consultant ratings.

  • Providing continuous inbound marketing support, sales assistance and follow-up to brokers/producers and wholesalers to maintain a high level of service to priority broker/dealers.

  • Maintaining management software and inputs literature orders.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Senior at a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree

  • Graduation date of Dec 2025 or May/June 2026

  • Commitment to complete the full 24-month Leadership Development Program, starting June 2026

  • Commitment to obtain Series 7 (or SIE and Series 7 top off exam) and 66 (or 63 & 65 combined) within a defined period of time

Preferred Qualifications

  • High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics

  • Proven organization skills and ability to manage time effectively

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work and communicate collaboratively with all levels of the organization including team members, managers, and senior leaders

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
