Job Description

Columbia Threadneedle is looking for an Implementation Specialist to join the team supporting our growing hedge fund business. The person who will be successful in this role will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is a continuous learner and is able to prioritize tasks for themselves and others.

How you’ll spend your time…

Enter trade orders into the order management system, monitor limit orders, and seek pre-trade compliance approvals when necessary. Ensure that “clean orders” are received by the trading desk for execution. Prepare portfolio rebalances while following established protocols for each fund. Work with portfolio managers and traders to ensure that investment ideas are effectively and efficiently implemented.
Validate and monitor cash levels throughout the day. Provide daily trade, position and cash reports to portfolio managers and analysts.
Provide market news and commentary as requested by portfolio manager.
Act as a liaison between the investment team and other internal business partners, including trading, fund administration, client services, legal, and operations.
Understand firm policies, procedures and specific investment account guidelines as they relate to the strategies supported.
Act as team subject matter expert on investment systems, including the order management system, attribution and risk systems.
Perform other ad-hoc requests, including limited research and special analytics projects.


To be successful in this role you will have…


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams at multiple levels
Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
Experience with (or the ability to quickly learn) specialized investment systems
An interest in financial markets

It would be great if you also had...
Experience with equities/equity derivatives

Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $86,000-$90,000 per year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurance.
