About the Opportunity
The Enterprise Resource Planning Support Office (ESO) has an immediate opening for an Alteryx Developer reporting to Senior Manager - IT Technology.
The ESO organization is seeking an Alteryx Developer to help drive analytics, forecasting, and operational intelligence capabilities across an integrated, cloud-based environment. The Alteryx Developer is responsible for the full lifecycle of analytics automation and data integration solutions, including requirements analysis, design, development, deployment, and operational support. This role builds and supports scalable data workflows, applications, and integrations that power reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, and enterprise analytics.
This position works within a cross-functional Agile team and interacts with multiple platforms, data sources, and cloud services to ensure solutions are secure, reliable, well-governed, and aligned with architectural and quality standards. The role also contributes to data governance, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts and may also support additional engineering, automation, or data initiatives as team and business needs evolve.
This is a fully onsite position located in Richmond, Boston or Kansas district locations.
What You Will Do:
Alteryx Development & Data Engineering
Design, build, enhance, and maintain complex Alteryx workflows, applications, and macros
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines supporting analytics, reporting, forecasting, and financial processes
Support automated data extractions and transformations across multiple enterprise systems
Technical Integrations and Infrastructure
Build and maintain integrations with systems such as Workday, Adaptive Insights, Tableau, PostgreSQL, and REST endpoints with secure authentication and monitoring
Support analytics solutions across multi-environment Alteryx Server instances (DEV, UAT, PROD)
Work with cloud services (AWS S3, EC2, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, Glue, IAM) to build scalable data solutions
Financial & Costing Workflow Support
Build and support workflows that enable cost accounting-based forecasting, allocation cycles, and related financial processes
Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and reliability across financial analytics and planning workflows
Serve as an escalation point for workflow failures, data quality issues, and production incidents
Perform comprehensive testing and create SOPs, architectural diagrams, implementation guides, test documentation, and troubleshooting playbooks
Platform Operations, Security & Agile Delivery
Configure and maintain role-based access controls, SSO/MFA, and secure identity practices while following data handling, encryption, and compliance standards
Maintain metadata, data lineage documentation, and data standards to support metric development, governance reviews, and reporting consistency
Drive agile delivery by participating in ceremonies, collaborating across technical teams, and iteratively delivering enhancements
Support platform operations, including releases, environment updates, and Alteryx Server upgrades, while following structured change management processes
Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure analytics solutions meet evolving needs
Perform additional analytics, engineering, and platform support duties as assigned to address emerging business needs and technical requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
9+ years in information technology or software engineering experience
3+Years using Alteryx Designer (building workflows, creating macros, setting up automations)
Alteryx Server experience (you've scheduled workflows, managed user permissions, and monitored jobs)
Strong understanding of ETL, data modeling, data warehousing, and data quality practices
At least one designer certification
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with REST APIs and integration patterns
Familiarity with additional cloud services (AWS Lambda, Glue, Aurora, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday, Adaptive Insights, Tableau, or similar tools
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, or related tooling
Experience with cost modeling or financial analytics

The hiring range is $133,100 – $183,000 annually.
Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
For candidates located outside of Richmond, VA, the listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
