Position Description:

Develops full-stack software applications and develops end-to-end solutions using Python, Java, and SQL. Develops Angular based User Interfaces (UIs) and deploys Java-based middle tier services to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Improves the performance and scalability of applications and workflows. Delivers time-to-market solutions. Develops complex or multiple software applications. Conducts studies of alternatives to translate divisional initiatives into business solutions. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participates in architecture design teams.

• Defines and implements application-level architecture.

• Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

• Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

• Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

• Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

• Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

• Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

• Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

• Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

• Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

• Advises senior management on technical strategy.

• Mentors junior team members.

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing financial investment applications using Java, Angular, and PL/SQL Oracle.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing financial investment applications using Java, Angular, and PL/SQL Oracle.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing, testing, and debugging highly scaled secure Agile planning platforms services according to Agile methodologies; and analyzing and developing Web applications using modern API based service architecture, using Java, Spring Framework, Angular or React JS, and PL/SQL Oracle.

• DE designing and developing highly scalable Web applications to support Portfolio Managers to view the intraday cash flows built using Java, Spring, Unix, Webservices, and PL/SQL Oracle; designing transactionally aware business components using Java, CoreSpring, Oracle and XML; and performing CRUD operations according to business requirements using EJB as data access interface.

• DE designing and developing Global Transaction Manager used to manage Forex confirmation with accounting systems for reconciliation of matching Forex Transactions, in an enterprise class environment, using JAVA, J2EE, Spring Boot, integration (Kafka and ActiveMQ), front-end (ReactJs) and deployment tools (on the private Cloud using Kubernetes and Docker); and performing CRUD operations according to business requirements using Spring JDBC as data access interface.

• DE creating Continuously Integrated and Continuously Deployed (CI/CD) pipelines, using Git or Bitbucket, Maven, and Jenkins; performing quality gates enforcement based on test code coverage and quality, using SonarQube; and publishing deployments to JBOSS and from Docker to private Cloud.
