Position Description:
Develops Web-enabled applications according to microservice patterns and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) methodologies using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure. Develops Cloud-based solutions using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), DevOps, serverless architecture, and Agile best practices and methodologies. Develops code to deliver polyglot solutions using Java, Python, JavaScript and Angular. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:

Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

Leads product management, software development, and Cloud computing.

Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software systems, uses scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Consults on development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.

Consults on deployment of major project deliverables.

Consults on the documentation of major technology application.

Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.

Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.

Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.

Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.

Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.

Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.

Identifies and plans for future resource needs.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) defining and implementing application architecture, strategies, and solutions using Java, Spring frameworks, GraphQL, Angular, JavaScript, Kafka and Kubernetes technologies.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) defining and implementing application architecture, strategies, and solutions using Java, Spring frameworks, GraphQL, Angular, JavaScript, Kafka and Kubernetes technologies.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) architecting, analyzing, designing, and developing enterprise solutions and messaging and streaming platforms (Kafka) using architecture patterns (Message/Event Domain Driven, CQRS, SAGA, and API) and SOLID principles (relational/NoSQL databases, and Redis).

DE designing and developing robust, responsive, and highly scalable Web services and microservices using Java, Spring frameworks, and GraphQL; designing and developing User Interfaces (UI) using, Angular or React, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS; and deploying solutions using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).

DE creating containerization strategies using Docker, Kubernetes and serverless application architectures; and defining long term strategies on API management, domain and policy modeling, infrastructure, data architecture, security, event driven and interoperable desktop platforms.

DE building Cloud native middle-tier applications using AWS Cloud technologies — AWS S3, EC2, AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, SSM and API Gateway.
