Job Description:

The Senior Manager of Finance is a member of the Fidelity Institutional Central Finance Team, and they will serve in a highly visible role cross all FI business units and work across the finance function.

The Senior Manager will interact with business and finance groups across FI, driving the FI multi-year planning, annual budget process, and developing financial packages with analysis and key insights to share with the FI leadership teams and business partners.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop a broad and deep understanding of FI’s businesses as well as the financial service industry, while helping to identify and adopt best practices to maintain the highest standard for financial planning and analysis across the firm.

The successful candidate will help Fidelity Institutional continue to grow its business profitably and responsibly and provide thought leadership and creative thinking to the FI finance organization. This person will require an analytic approach, strong collaboration skills, comprehensive problem solving, independent thinking, and intellectual curiosity.

You will deliver strategic insights and analysis to inform business strategy and decision making; drive operationalization of the FI strategy, including developing a deep understanding of the Fidelity Institutional businesses and products that they support. As such, the candidate must be capable of understanding the details as well as be able to provide contextual commentary around the results to help “tell the story.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting; MBA preferred
  • 8-10 years professional experience in financial analysis and planning
  • Proven ability to combine a strategic business perspective with strong project management and analytical skills, with solid business and financial competence
  • Strong analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with financial database, planning solutions and visualization, reporting tools preferred (e.g. Business Objects, Anaplan, Power BI, Assets & Flows)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to “tell the story” and craft presentations to communicate complex financial information to influence executive decision making
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proactively building consultative relationships across Finance and the business
  • Intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and the ability to contribute to the team are musts

The Value You Deliver

  • Complete technical aspects of Multi Year Plan, Budget, and Forecast Consolidation.
  • Build strong working relationships with cross FI BU finance teams; provide support and expertise to help in their development of MYP, Budget as well as other key deliverables.
  • Participate in project and team-oriented work to redesign, enhance, streamline current FP&A processes.
  • Contribute to development of executive communications for high-level, high-visibility presentations for FI senior management.
  • Perform ad-hoc and scenario analysis intended to inform senior management team of key trends, risks, and/or opportunities
  • Provide insightful analyses and recommendations to a range of business partners (e.g., Compensation, Workforce Planning, Accounting) to support decision-making.
  • Manager and mentor junior analysts.
  • Strong performance will provide meaningful opportunities for advancement, and longer-term career development.
  • Finding opportunities to streamline work processes to make the team more efficient and effective
