Job Description:
The Position:
Join a team of quantitative analysts, embedded among traders on Fidelity’s Global Equity Trading desk, to measure and enhance Fidelity’s trading process. The trading team, spread across 3 offices in Boston, London and Hong Kong, supports the Equity Asset Management Division’s need to invest/trade in 50+ countries on over $2T in AUM. Specific responsibilities of the quantitative analyst position include:
- Analysis of global trading and market data to measure various aspects of Fidelity’s equity trading process. This includes pre-trade analytics, real time execution guidance and post trade transaction cost analysis (TCA)
- Development of mathematical models to identify underlying factors that drive Fidelity’s trading costs, provide decision support tools and recommendations for improving Fidelity’s equity trading process
- Working with traders and trading management to refine and enhance existing trading quantitative research capabilities
- Working in collaboration with internal data teams to refine existing data sources and curate new data sources (both internal trade data and external market data)
The position is based in Boston and will report to the Head of Global Quantitative Trading Analysis.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience, and 3+ years in trading-related role
- Programming skills using KDB/Q, Python, and SQL required
- Track record of intellectual curiosity; passion for answering questions with data; self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and entrepreneurial team environment; work with changing priorities and challenging schedules; open-mindedness to different views and new ideas; comfortable communicating/presenting research findings and ideas
Knowledge of the following is highly desirable:
- Investment Management life cycle, equity trading strategies and algorithms
- Experience cleaning, visualizing, and analyzing big data
- Mathematical modeling in the pre, real-time and post trade analytics space
- Bloomberg terminal, data & related APIs
