The Role
The Director, Advanced Planning is a client-facing role that serves primarily as an estate planning subject matter authority for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors as a member of a regionally aligned Advanced Planning team, providing comprehensive financial and estate planning support. The Director will be relied on to support the Vice President, Advanced Planning Market Lead to provide advisor training, regional business development and thought leadership. We primarily use video technology to function remotely in addition to meeting clients and advisors in investor centers across the region. We also collaborate within the Advanced Planning team both virtually and in-person to maintain and increase our collective impact on the clients we serve. Travel is typically expected between 5% and 20% of the time, depending on physical proximity to regional sites and investor centers. The role is remote but being commuting distance to Merrimack, NH, Smithfield, RI or Boston, Massachusetts, is preferred. #ADVANCED PLANNING
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree with any of the following designations preferred: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation
- 10 -12 years overall work experience with 8 plus years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 preferred or obtained within 90-days of employment
- Knowledge of estate planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation required
- Experience with retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning preferred
- Provides and receives coaching and mentorship
- Thrives in a team environment to provide an outstanding client planning experience
- Communicates complex subjects clearly and effectively
- Emotional intelligence to effectively bond with and communicate with clients
- Possesses a solution-oriented, client-first work ethic
- Works independently, balances tasks, and prioritizes work to maintain efficiency
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor with a thoughtful approach to delivering successful customer outcomes
