The Role

As the Global Immigration Director, you play a critical role in shaping Fidelity’s immigration programs. This includes defining, supporting, and continually improving these programs, which focus on work authorization and permanent residency needs for Fidelity’s various business units across the globe. In this individual contributor leadership position, you’ll oversee our immigration vendors and serve as a strategic liaison for leadership while focusing on refining the immigration support strategy, aligning with company policies, and implementing programs to meet business unit needs. Your role extends to designing and delivering training to internal partners, sharing periodic updates and communications, defining key metrics to drive quality goals and ensuring accurate reporting to key partners.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Ability to work at both a strategic and tactical level to support BU & HR initiatives. Must have strategic focus and ability to set long-term vision while providing the tactical support.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. immigration, including H-1, L-1, J-1, O-1 visa types and permanent residency process
  • Familiarity with global immigration concepts, and specifically Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, and U.K.
  • Additional, HR experience is preferred
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and projects at the same time while offering seamless customer service.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HR platform and talent management systems (Workday).
  • Proven talents in process improvement and measurement are a plus.
  • Experience managing various 3rd party vendors including annual planning and periodic vendor reviews.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to use data to describe and articulate business needs.
  • Partners with the HR, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and business unit leadership teams to understand and execute the organizations immigration and visa requirements.
  • Ability to partner and work across Fidelity on various initiatives and projects.
  • Demonstrate understanding of macro level environment to assess and mitigate risk.
  • Ability to engage and communicate with executive leadership.
  • Excellent presentation development and delivery skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks and responsibilities in partnership with the operations team, while balancing multiple process optimization initiatives.
  • Ability to take initiative and solve business problems through partnership and planning.

The Team

As a member of the Fidelity Immigration services team, you will work within Enterprise Human Resources to support various business unit HR teams, Talent Acquisition teams, and hiring managers. The team offers centralized, and scalable solutions for firm wide HR needs. The Immigration Services team works with internal policy and compliance stakeholders, as well as outside vendors in support of Fidelity’s foreign national associate population.
