The Role

We’re seeking a Director of iOS engineering to help take our platforms to the next level and support an ever-expanding range of digital properties. Leading all aspects of our iOS products and working closely with adjacent leaders in Android and web, this role will have a direct and lasting impact on our expansion into emerging and innovative platforms while evolving and maturing our existing platforms to deliver a rich and engaging experience. Ideal candidates for this role have experience leading teams, are keenly focused on design and UX, have a passion for new product development, and are able to be a hands-on leader, being able to contribute meaningfully and leading by example.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of iOS engineers who are responsible for building, maintaining, and deploying iOS apps.
  • Set technical direction for the engineering team and define architectural standards in partnership with other leaders.
  • Provide direct management, coaching, and mentoring for a growing engineering team, with a specific focus on career development
  • Partner effectively with other leaders in the group to develop a cohesive and comprehensive technical strategy and roadmap, supporting our range of products.
  • Help cultivate and advocate for a culture code that emphasizes a customer focus, sharing knowledge, empowering everyone, and supporting leadership at all levels.
  • Work closely with business partners to understand their needs and help drive technical decisions in support of these goals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in computer science, engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an iOS developer using Swift, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, Combine, and XCode in an agile environment
  • Strong experience with MVVM architecture and protocol-oriented programming.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience building, leading, and growing highly-effective teams
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, possessing the ability to quickly understand complex systems and their associated data.
  • Deep experience building multi-module iOS apps using Clean Architecture and/or MVVM patterns.
  • Experience working within environments heavily focused on TDD, automation, and DevSecOps concepts to rapidly deliver, measure, and iterate on products and features.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
