Senior Manager, Workplace Investing Communications
Reports To: Director, Workplace Investing Communications
Location: Boston, Smithfield or Merrimack (preference for Boston)
The Role
We are looking for a dynamic individual to support communications strategies, develop content, and execute communication plans for Fidelity’s Workplace Investing (WI) Business. If you are passionate about contributing to high-impact communications programs, come join us!
As the Senior Manager of WI Communications, you will develop and implement strategic communications programs that support WI’s business objectives and align with Fidelity enterprise priorities. These communications will reach key stakeholders including associates, business partners and, in some cases, external audiences.
With your experience in strategic content creation and delivery, you will have the opportunity to serve as a trusted consultant to senior business leaders in WI. You will share best practices in executive communications, associate engagement, project management and change management, as well as work with leaders (and their teams) to develop content that aligns to business priorities.
You will also maintain a focus on measurement and impact to determine communications effectiveness. In addition, this role will help amplify Fidelity’s mission and strategy to WI associates.
Responsibilities include:
- Support executive communications, including drafting, proof-reading, formatting, and managing distribution to internal audiences.
- Develop original content for a variety of communication channels including Fidelity’s intranet, emails, video, social media, and more.
- Work across Corporate Affairs and with business partners to align communications and messaging, as appropriate, with other business units and enterprise strategy.
- Measure the effectiveness of all communications programs to include creation and assembly of monthly and ad hoc communications reports for the Workplace Investing communications team and senior management.
- Support Workplace Investing communications team by tracking upcoming communications and events.
- Partner across the Workplace Investing communications team to support internal and external events. Event support includes project management, content development, stakeholder management, and speaker preparation.
- Serve as a project manager capable of managing multiple and simultaneous projects, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity's high standards in the areas of accuracy, ethics, legal, and compliance.
- Additional responsibilities include managing and updating the Workplace Investing SharePoint site, managing the quarterly business results process with finance and sales teams, owning the email distribution process for senior leaders and tracking communication effectiveness, and other ongoing projects to support the business.

You will report to the Director, Workplace Investing Communications and be part of an incredible larger team – Leadership Communications – responsible for driving impactful executive engagement programs for Fidelity’s major revenue-generating businesses.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. Financial services knowledge preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience as a communications professional.
- Very strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Proven experience in developing and executing communications strategies across executive, internal, and external communications.
- Business-minded: ability to understand and articulate the function’s multi-year plan and align and prioritize high-impact communications for internal and external audiences.
- Ability to take complex concepts and distill them into compelling content for internal audiences, using new, creative and engaging ways across various media/channels.
- Ability to coach and consult with senior leaders and are comfortable giving frank, constructive feedback.
- Skilled at managing multiple and simultaneous projects, including working with partners to organize internal meetings, ensuring that all efforts meet Fidelity’s high standards.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation tools.
- Understand the important role measurement and metrics play to demonstrating impact, value and guiding decision making.
- Can thrive in a fast-paced and nimble environment.
Fidelity’s working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
