The Purpose of your Role
As part of the Enterprise Functions Decision Support team, this position will support the Human Resources, Compliance, Audit, Legal, Communications, Public Affairs and Policy and Audit BUs. This is a challenging role that requires an individual who can multi-task in a fast-paced, highly sophisticated, and ever-changing organization. The ability to work with business partners of various levels, Accounting and Central Finance as well as other Finance organizations is a necessity.
The Financial Analyst is tasked with providing finance support and advice to the BU's. The role is responsible for analyzing and interpreting spend across the P&L, lead the forecast and budgeting process, and maintain and create unit cost metrics and Key Performance Indicators. In addition, this position plays a lead role in month-end close activities and variance commentary production, as well as making recommendations on invoice accruals, and providing monthly financial reviews to leadership.
The Expertise You Have
- Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics with 5+ years of related work experience. MBA preferred.
- Applicants must have exceptional analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Flexibility and the skill to both lead and contribute are necessary
- Excellent communication and people skills along with ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the business, including role as fiduciary steward
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, data analytics or related field
- 3-6 years of relevant experience in finance or data analysis role(s)
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI) and Anaplan is highly encouraged
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and data modeling skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarize and clearly articulate complex issues, synthesize key points and effectively communicate findings
- Ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence and maturity to work independently and across different levels of the organization
- Flexibility and resourcefulness to handle several priorities in a deadline driven environment, having comfort with ambiguity
The Value You Deliver
- Influencing senior business leaders on key decisions by providing clear and concise evaluations, analysis, and financial models.
- Developing financial analysis and reporting of business unit expenses including periodic reporting and analysis as well as month-end close processing and variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and related business commentary.
- Supporting ongoing and ad-hoc analysis and develop recommendations, including scenario analysis.
- Evaluating and improving IT financial management processes to meet changing business needs and efficiency goals.
- Coaching and developing junior level analysts.

The Enterprise Functions Analytics team provides oversight for over $600 Million of expense and provides management with informed, insightful, action-oriented financial analysis to guide effective decision-making.
At Fidelity, our goal is for most people to work flexibly in a way that balances both personal and business needs with time onsite and offsite through what we are calling “Dynamic Working”. Most associates will have a hybrid schedule with a requirement to work onsite at a Fidelity work location for at least one week, all business days, every four weeks.
