Advanced Strategies and Research Internship

Looking for an outstanding opportunity to demonstrate your analytical attitude to impact financial decision-making? Quantitative Research Internships within Fidelity’s Asset Management division give students the opportunity to do just that. These groups are seeking students with technical backgrounds who are interested in using those skills to assist our modeling efforts.
Education and Experience
· Class of 2026 Master’s or PhD degree – Class of 2026, 2027 PhD, Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical area.
· Demonstrated experience/interest/skill in quantitative research and data science analysis.
· Academic or intellectual interest in financial markets
· Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills, as well as the ability to clearly articulate findings
· Field(s) of study must be in a technical area (STEM) and/or Finance/Economics with a strong programming background.
Skills and Knowledge
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
· Must be able to code in Python and must have exposure to SQL. Exposure to machine learning, NLP, and/or LLM a plus.

Advanced Strategies and Research Internship
The ASR Quant Research Intern will work closely within our quantitative research team to support researchers building alpha generating stock selection models. This person will sit amongst a team of researchers leveraging a wide variety of datasets and modeling techniques and have exposure to the full spectrum of research topics from idea generation and signal testing to portfolio construction and reporting.
Responsibilities include:
· Using mathematic, economic and data science techniques to collect, process, and analyze a variety of proprietary and alternative data sets
· Test hypotheses on how a dataset might be utilized for predicting stock returns
· Assist the team with portfolio and model reporting
We are seeking students who are skilled in modern analytic techniques (e.g. Python, R, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
