The Role

In the role of Director, Market Enablement Operations, you will foster cohesiveness across Fidelity Institutional Wealth Management Services (IWMS) and the broader Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology (FBOT) organization by driving operational programs and strategic initiatives across leadership, client-facing teams and cross-functional business partners.

The role sits within the IWMS Go-to-Market & Strategy (GTM&S) team and plays a critical role in executing the strategic priorities of the IWMS and Fidelity Institutional (FI) businesses. The role encompasses two main areas of responsibility: 1) ownership of Operational Programs and Initiatives and 2) leadership of the FBOT Administrative Team.

The Director, Market Enablement Operations will own multiple existing and recurring enablement programs; responsibilities include:

  • Spearheading the planning and execution of the annual IWMS Sales & Relationship Management Meeting as well as other internal events, such as quarterly business reviews, leadership offsites and all associate meetings
  • Functioning as Chief of Staff for the Head of Market Enablement, coordinating overall team operating model and serving as point of connectivity to help orchestrate cross-functional go-to-market initiatives
  • Driving the ongoing enhancement and adoption of key internal productivity tools such as the FI / FBOT contract management system, request for proposal (RFP) management software and internal knowledge bases
  • Facilitating the distribution of timely communications to both IWMS clients and internal client-facing teams to ensure alignment and transparency across the organization

Additionally, this leader will be a go-to resource for leadership of new strategic initiative work as well as continuous operational improvement across the IWMS business.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Passion for professional development and ability to implement skill development and career-pathing initiatives or other opportunities to enhance the business or team culture
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience, including 3+ years of management responsibility
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Proven leadership experience and demonstrated ability to earn trust and credibility through strong listening and communications skills, empathy and confident decision-making
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to implement, measure and track progress of strategic initiatives
  • Ability to balance strategy with execution in leading everyday work
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across the organization and interact / influence / negotiate effectively at all levels of management
  • Ability to coach, handle sensitive information / issues, resolve conflicts and drive projects to completion with candor, transparency and integrity
  • Learning mindset with a positive approach to innovation, experimentation and failure

The Team

This role also plays a vital part in leading the FBOT Administrative Team, which supports senior executives, client-facing teams and other business leaders across FBOT. In addition to owning the vision and strategy for this team, the Director, Market Enablement Operations will lead two managers responsible for:

  • Operational Oversight: ensuring daily administrative operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Professional Development: managing team performance and providing feedback, coaching and career pathing opportunities
  • Strategic Planning: collaborating with managers and executive teams to set goals, plan, and execute projects that align with organizational objectives
  • Resource Planning and Management: overseeing budget planning, resource allocation and reporting
