Job Description:

Fidelity Stock Plan Services (SPS) is Fidelity’s equity compensation administration services business, which is vertically integrated in the Workplace Investing (WI) division. Fidelity’s Stock Plan Services business manages relationships with external Plan Sponsors and their employees in 198 countries, including numerous S&P 500 companies, providing administrative support services for these clients and individual support and guidance to plan participants.

The Stock Plan Services Product and Platform Domain exists to focus and deliver world class equity plan administration capabilities of behalf of our Stock Plan Clients and digital experiences for their Participants. The domain focuses on four major tenets in operating principles and design decisions:

  • Delivering Customer Value: Listening and adapting to our customers’ (Sponsors and Participants) needs to deliver the best SPS and NQ experience.
  • Enabling Growth: Developing new capabilities to attract prospects and enable us to enter new markets
  • Driving Scale and Efficiency: The opportunity to bring value in our market starts with reducing unit costs.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Celebrating differing voices and perspectives in our products and our people.

The Role

As the Product Area Leader of Stock Plan Services Global Recordkeeping, you blend broad product and portfolio management expertise with an obsession for delivering business partner, plan sponsor and participant value. You will define and evolve the product vision, strategy, and mission of the recordkeeping platform to deliver a seamless and modern product experience to all stakeholders. This will require you as a leader to thrive in an environment of leading large complex change and commitment to iteratively delivering high impact. To succeed, you will demonstrate strong communication and collaboration traits to foster close partnerships with functional leaders in technology, client service, operations, implementation & sales.

As a leader, you will articulate a north star vision and empower agile teams, and associates to maximize value delivered through prioritization, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and decision making to encourage them to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. In the agile structure you will nurture 19 teams oriented around 15 strategic capabilities (ex: recordkeeping, Grants, Corporate Actions, Performance etc.) and lead forums to help build a highly mission driven team, collaborative culture and strong community to deliver on real-time, globally enabled recordkeeping capabilities. You are committed to developing your own industry knowledge on product evolution and innovation to inform your product vision and to empower your leaders with that knowledge.

Scope of Role:

  • Sets the Global Recordkeeping Product Area strategy for accelerated delivery of recordkeeping features with the goal of delivering industry leading plan admin experiences at scale.
  • Define a multi-year strategy to deliver enhanced capabilities while building towards a larger north star product vision
  • Works across the enterprise to leverage common platforms and experiences for the benefit of Plan Sponsors, internal associates (Operations/phones) and participants.
  • Makes decisions on matters of the highest complexity presented by work that carries across varying products and processes from potential combinations of domains/product areas and BU's.
  • Makes decisions that materially impact results and can alter the course of a deliverable with limited guidance. Must collaborate across an extensive network to drive most impactful work and informs key stakeholders on progress. Leads Fidelity and agile behaviors to ingrain an innovative agile culture.
  • Develops vision, goals, and direction for Product Area, with responsibility for the complete cycle of product development and implementation. This large-scale process may carry significant risk and may be managed across multiple Product Areas/Domains/Business units.
  • Responsible for ensuring the completion of work by empowering Squads to plan, coordinate and execute. Oversees significant budget and number of resources. Develops the requirements for high quality standards and practice.
  • Sets and leads timelines, expectations, and the strategic decisions for a product area with influence on a broader set of product areas, including solution development based on expertise and experience.
  • Proactively partners across domains, product areas, centers of excellence, and chapter leaders to influence strategic decisions related to their area of expertise. May lead a new offering tied directly to driving scale and efficiency in our service experience.
  • Serves as the thought leader for the Product area; motivates, attracts, and retains talent at more senior levels.
  • Strong partnerships and collaboration with other Product Area, Chapter Area, Chapter and Squad Leaders. Role model for Fidelity agile leadership behaviors and forms agile culture.
  • Supports, mentors, develops, and enables Squad Leaders and all senior leadership to deliver increased value to the product areas and domains they support.
  • Partners with chapter area and chapter leaders to ensure optimization of chapter member talent while defining and building learning opportunities connected to the strategic direction of the domains and product areas.
  • Leads thought leadership and has significant mentorship capabilities.

The Expertise and Skills We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years of functional experience in product management, technology and/or business, with high level agile, analytical, and coaching skills
  • Certified Equity Professional (CEP) and Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses required
  • You have senior level SPS product experience defining strategic roadmaps and leading the strategic vision and development of solutions and offerings aligned with business goals
  • Deep cross-platform product development experience with proven track record of delivering results and impact
  • You are a committed leader who serves and an inspirational people leader, capable of setting strategic direction and encouraging others to deliver results and impact to achieve that strategy
  • You have strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence and engage across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization and with external customers and partners
  • You have a continuous improvement approach and encourage and enable an agile way of working
  • You take a data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
  • You have or are committed to building a balance of technology and non-technology skills to fully appreciate the broad needs of our customers
  • Passion for developing associates and an ability to attract and retain hard-working individuals and teams, and a proven commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to create a psychologically safe culture that drives debate and encourages all levels to challenge each other for the betterment of our business and our clients

We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
