The Role

The Vice President, Wealth Management Editorial leads a team responsible for developing and delivering thought leadership to help wealth management firms grow and transform. The Wealth Management Editorial team partners closely with stakeholders across Fidelity Institutional and Institutional Wealth Management Services to understand the challenges clients are facing and develops content intended to help wealth management firm leaders navigate the future of the industry and to help advisors and other firm team members address the more specific challenges they face.

This leader will work with the Sales, Relationship Management, Technology and Consulting team leaders to determine the priority content themes and will oversee the Editorial team in developing both original and derivative content with memorable and compelling messages aligned to those themes – that also support the business priorities. The leader lives at the intersection of content and creativity and will work with the Creative and Digital Marketing team leaders to bring the content to life though a wide range of engaging formats: executive thought leadership presentations, social media content, articles, infographics, videos, podcasts, web landing zones – and will work with the Go to Market, Consulting, Segment Management and Investment Specialist team leaders to identify opportunities to bring this content directly to clients and maximize its impact to the business.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing or communications

  • 15+ years in progressive leadership roles

  • Knowledge of financial services and/or investment products

  • Intermediary market experience preferred

  • Expertise in all aspects of marketing content development

  • Strong business acumen: Ability to understand Fidelity’s multi-year plan, financial drivers and align and support the team in prioritizing narratives

  • Exceptional writer and storyteller: Strength in framing memorable and compelling messages

  • Creative thinker: Ability to distill complex concepts, present insights in new ways and push the traditional boundaries in order to break through in the marketplace

  • Excellent partner: Works closely with the investment thought leadership team, other thought leadership functions and communications to elevate and connect narratives, as well as to partner closely with the Sales/RM, Product and Practice Management & Consulting leaders to infuse their perspectives and voice”

  • Experience leading teams with multiple, complex projects, priorities and stakeholders.

  • Highly articulate; makes arguments in a compelling, data-driven manner

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 24 licenses a plus or can be acquired while in the role

  • Act as narrative subject matter expert: Work with go-to-market team to support their efforts to amplify insights through L&D, campaigns, segment-specific initiatives, sales enablement, and promotion through various tools and service delivery methods

  • Learn and evolve: Harness marketing metrics to evaluate and increase the effectiveness of FI’s editorial content

The Team

The Wealth Management Editorial team is part of the Institutional Segment & Solutions Marketing team, a group that is focused on driving and delivering marketing initiatives in alignment with priorities for the Sales and Relationship Management teams it supports across Fidelity Institutional and Institutional Wealth Management Services.

The base salary range for this position is $123,000-$207,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
