The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12+ years of experience in retirement benefits industry and/or consulting to large companies
  • QKA, QKC, CPA, JD (ERISA or similar specialty) or credentialed actuary (a plus)
  • Outstanding teamwork skills and ability to professionally influence others across groups
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Keen interest and dedication to help others succeed
  • Expert knowledge in qualified and non-qualified defined contribution plan design and compliance/taxation issues, legislative and regulatory requirements (ERISA/IRS/DOL), and plan administration, including plans with auto-enrollment and safe harbor design features

The Purpose of Your Role

As a Vice President in Workplace Consulting (Retirement, Qualified & Non-qualified Defined Contribution Consulting) you will be responsible for consulting with large clients on strategies to align retirement benefit programs with business objectives and goals. This includes facilitation of sophisticated strategy discussions with clients to understand their business as well as providing oversight on project implementation and delivery. Additionally, you'll be involved with new business development in multiple capacities including: 1) penetrating the regional market, 2) creative solutioning for new and prospective clients to the firm, 3) supporting business proposals and articulating Fidelity’s non-qualified service offering and capabilities and 4) cultivating existing client relationships. While working in a collaborative and dynamic work environment, you will have an opportunity to apply your leadership skills to help engage associates and encourage a satisfying and productive work atmosphere.

Experience & skills associated with non-qualified design, trends and funding options / strategy are an important focus in this role.

  • Leading new business efforts including collaborating cross-practice and across Fidelity to secure additional revenue for Workplace Consulting and the broader organization
  • Crafting sustainable and profitable client relationships
  • Ensuring and championing quality of work delivered to clients
  • Consulting on a wide variety of benefit topics, employee/retiree educational issues and anticipating changing client needs, with a focus on defined contribution programs
  • Contributing to thought leadership on behalf of Fidelity and Workplace Consulting
  • Working with other practices in Workplace Consulting and across Fidelity to identify new opportunities and deliver integrated solutions
  • Mentoring associates within the Retirement practice and cross-practice
  • Involvement in the effort to interview/hire new associates
  • Remaining current on legislative and technical requirements

The Team

The Fidelity Workplace Consulting Group is composed of over 600 professionals who advise clients on the management of their domestic and global benefits. We are a fast-growing business within Fidelity, providing a broad range of services that touch on every area of benefits design, strategy, funding, communication and delivery. Most of our team comes from other leading consulting firms. While we focus on working with the Fortune 1000, we also work with Fidelity clients of all sizes. The base salary range for this position is $124,000-$262,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
