Job Description:
The Head of User Experience Design is responsible for leading the User Experience capability for all of Fidelity, across the enterprise. This individual will lead and inspire a team of 300 and drive the pursuit of Fidelity’s relentless obsession to deliver the best user experience to its customers at every touch point. The Head of User Experience will bring a “design mindset’, and of equal importance, will be a strategic thinker, able to build and lead a business facing capability, deeply rooted in metrics and measurement systems that guide best practices and informed decision making.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
You can lead and inspire teams to deliver seamless, exceptional experiences for customers. You have led all aspects of design standards and usage of the design system, including accessibility, across the company while working with various groups to continuously evolve to meet changing customer needs. You can build and cultivate, enterprise wide, relationships with senior level key stakeholders focused on creative solutions that rise above organizational boundaries and challenges and ensure teams are collaborating and building consensus toward data-driven solutions. You have leveraged customer analytics and insights to drive decision decisions and measurement of effectiveness. You have run design as a business function to deliver measured client impact.
- Deep experience and expertise leading large User Experience design teams within a large organization with matrixed management and multiple business lines
- Experience working at customer obsessed organizations and/or digital first companies
- BA/BS required, Masters in a design related discipline preferred
- Executive presence – the ability to command attention, inspire confidence, and guide strategic discussions with senior-level management
- Communication and interpersonal skills -- ability to structure and deliver presentations clearly, crisply, and compellingly. Excellent verbal and written skills with proven ability to champion recommendations and influence decisions at all levels of management
- Collaboration -- track record of establishing effective cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels in a highly collaborative environment
- Experience integrating tooling into the design process to help designers move faster such as prototyping and wireframing tools and AI

Drives transformation efforts via informed journey mapping, and data-driven design efforts that translates into simple, intuitive experiences that reflects Fidelity’s commitment to provide an exceptional experience for their customers. They work with to build and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across the Enterprise to elevate UX Design thinking as a methodology of innovation and driver of organizational change. They keep abreast of competitive products and industry trends and contribute findings to drive improved user experience and innovations across the enterprise.
