Executes and plans cross-team and cross-departmental implementation of OMS enhancements, including the Optimal Portfolio Execution Engine (OPEX) expansion initiative. Documents and reviews the high-level requirements and roadmap in preparation for OPEX and the OMS Trading Workflow Automation. Provides a visual representation of the algorithm’s inputs, decision making process and outputs, as well as allow traders to define and configure input parameters and thresholds. Defines squad objectives and measures outcomes against these, while delivering agreed upon business, technology, and people results.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identifies automation capabilities across the trading workflow including auto-accept, auto-interfund, and auto-execute.
- Evaluates proposed projects on the basis of overall business value, cost and time saving, implementation effort, and potential risks.
- Identifies new components, develops project roadmaps, and implements new features for Equity Trading Applications.
- Defines, refines, and communicates the squads' mission and roadmap to empower the team and build partner support and alignment.
- Anticipates, discovers through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team.
- Makes informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.
- Collaborates and coordinates with chapter leaders and scrum masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development and learning.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) designing and developing software solutions using a 3-tier architecture (database, service layer, client) within the financial services industry.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, IT Product Management (or closely related occupation) designing and developing software solutions using a 3-tier architecture (database, service layer, client) within the financial services industry.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) triaging and resolving issues within complex asset management systems, and researching and understanding data anomalies within equity and high income trading capabilities, using Java, Angular, and Oracle.
- DE documenting complex business requirements for asset management professionals; working closely with business to determine scope and implementation options based on requirements, and documenting requirements in a clear and complete way to ensure developers implement the correct functionality; determining priority of functional requirements; organizing the sequence of work to deliver new capabilities efficiently, and developing and executing test cases to validate that defined requirements are implemented correctly.
- DE using PL/SQL to perform usage analysis based on historical business transaction data; applying data analysis results to refine and inform business requirements; and using PL/SQL to assist in triaging and resolving defects occurring in the system.
- DE managing the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) -- engaging with business stakeholders, architecture, and technology partners to build and maintain applications and services -- according to Agile methodologies; and leveraging Scrum to visualize and manage sprint planning implemented using Jira.
