The Role
We are seeking a Foreign Exchange Trader to join the Equity Trading department at Fidelity. Based in Boston, this role will report to the Head of Alternatives Trading and be responsible for executing FX positions across a variety of investment strategies. Foreign Exchange is centralized desk that executes on behalf of multiple asset class investment teams at Fidelity.
The Value You Deliver
- Manage daily execution of global FX orders, including Spot, Forwards, Swaps and NDFs, employing a variety of execution channels to meet our best execution expectations.
- Engage with global portfolio management, research, and cross asset trading teams to provide value-added macro market intelligence.
- Collaborate across Fidelity advisors to provide liquidity solutions for FX needs in Alternatives strategies, including FX Options, FX Futures, and Interest rate swaps.
- Represent Fidelity externally through engagement with broker-dealers, buy side peers and industry groups.
- Facilitate ongoing technology work to enhance our FX trading platform, focusing on best execution, risk controls and system resiliency.
- Partner with our quantitative analytics team to understand transaction costs and seek to minimize those costs on an ongoing basis.
- Develop relationships with key internal partners including compliance, legal, operations, counterparty, risk, and technology, to ensure a seamless trading process.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Minimum of 7 years of experience executing foreign exchange.
- Careful attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to work individually and in a collaborative team setting.
- Possess a critical eye and willingness to offer innovative solutions.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software.
