Job Description:

Are you interested in applying your knowledge of investment risk management to new products? Would you like to join a new team evaluating risks associated with Alternative Investments?

If so, join our newly established team delivering independent investment risk insights and analytics focused on Alternative Investments.

The Role

As a Risk Manager of Alternative Investments, you will be working in Fidelity's Risk organization partnering with other risk, analytics, finance and investment professionals to independently evaluate and report on current and emerging risks in the Alternative Investment Space.

The Expertise You Have

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field required; Master’s Degree, MBA, CFA, FRM, CAIA are a plus

· 3+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services experience preferred

· Familiarity with Fidelity’s businesses and internal tools

· Understanding and experience across one or more of the major asset classes such as equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities

· Knowledge of private equity, private debt, structured financed, real estate investments are a plus

· Experience with risk techniques such as stress testing and scenario analyses, financial modeling, and statistical analyses

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

The Skills You Bring

· You have strong technical and analytical skills to conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and quantitative modeling to assess portfolio risks. Data analysis and visualization skills a plus

· You can identify inherent risks to different Alternative Investment strategies including hedge funds, private equity, real assets, and other alternative vehicles

· You have the ability to utilize platforms such as Bloomberg, Intex, RiskMetrics, and proprietary systems for risk analysis.

· You are a self-starter able to work independently and manage time to drive initiatives from start to finish in a timely manner

· You have collaboration skills with ability to work with a wide range business partners and investment teams.

· You have working knowledge of asset management, brokerage, operations and knowledge of regulatory rules and regulations

· You command effective written and verbal skills that can be used to influence decisions

· Ability to respond to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled work

· You have excellent knowledge of MS office products particularly Excel / VBA, PowerPoint and Word

The Value You Deliver

· Driving innovation using complex data sets to identify, understand, analyze and mitigate risks

· Partner with investment, finance, operations teams to help manage key market, credit, and portfolio construction risks

· Prepare and present risk reports to senior leadership and investment committees.

· Assist in developing stress-based and scenario risk analytics, aggregation and monitoring exposures

· Conduct market research to continue improving and strengthening risk capabilities

· Exploring opportunities to enhance existing risk reporting, dashboards and developing new key risk indicators

The Team

The candidate will join a dynamic closely-knit group that prides itself on encouraging creative ideas. In this role, you will help ensure that Fidelity protects its reputation and aligns with laws and regulations relating to the risks. To complete this goal, the team is responsible for identifying, testing, and reporting on significant risks and helping management improve the control environment. By challenging the norm and valuing pace over precision, you will help drive innovation in our space. This role will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to gain exposure to a range of operational and regulatory functions, build strong risk management skills, and make an impact within a critical and highly visible organization.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$127,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
