Job Description:

Director, Solution Architect - Experience

The Role

Are you passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences? As a Journey Solution Architect at Fidelity, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how our customers interact with our products and services — ensuring every touchpoint builds trust and confidence. Our customers depend on us to safeguard their assets and provide seamless access, and your expertise will help deliver a best-in-class experience at every step.

In this role, you’ll bring your full range of talents to the table. As a solution architect, you’ll define and uphold high standards for system quality while aligning technology solutions with business goals. You’ll collaborate closely with business sponsors, project managers, engineers, and fellow architects to craft strategies, set standards, and recommend innovative solutions that serve both our associates and customers.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role that leads end-to-end architecture efforts. You’ll ensure solutions meet strategic objectives — both technical and business — while fostering open collaboration across teams. If you thrive on ownership, enjoy solving complex challenges, and can clearly communicate architectural vision to diverse stakeholders, this is the opportunity for you.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineer field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead.
  • Experience with web or mobile frameworks.
  • Expertise with server-side languages and frameworks.
  • Experience creating end to end architectures across distributed systems.
  • Experience working across many teams and influencing technical direction.
  • Expertise in developing non-functional requirements, documenting those requirements and validating the delivery of those requirements with teams.
  • Experience in diagramming for various use cases and to different audiences. UML and C4 understanding are required.
  • Experience in making, presenting and defending architecture decisions.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud offerings and best practices.
  • Expertise with CI/CD and unit test practices / Test Driven Development.
  • Knowledgeable of API Management and domain driven design.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions and provide end-to-end reference architecture designs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills who can clearly articulate and influence design solutions.

The Team

Are you passionate about creating meaningful impact through technology? Fidelity’s Enterprise Architecture team is looking for a forward-thinking individual to help shape the future of our brokerage applications and products as we build the next generation of experience platforms.

As a key member of our architecture team, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing innovative mobile and web experiences for both associates and customers. You’ll collaborate closely with architecture and application teams to champion innovation, drive standardization, and implement cutting-edge technology patterns across the stack.

Fidelity Brokerage Architecture sets the strategic technology direction for Fidelity’s Brokerage business. We’re a centralized architecture practice focused on IT strategy, transformation, governance, and cross-team collaboration. We foster open communication and informed decision-making at every level.
