Job Description:

The Role

SPS Private Markets is seeking an experienced and passionate product owner to join our team in a key role responsible for delivering new capabilities and business growth for late-stage, enterprise clients! You will support the intersection of Fidelity’s public and private equity administration offering enabling our private market’s clients and their participants to achieve impactful ownership via our platform and servicing offerings. You will partner with other leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions and roadmaps, define the resource requirements, set the mission, and bring product development teams together to drive specific results and ensure respective products or services are available, stable, performant, and supported when required and related cost and maintenance is managed. You will ensure alignment on the 'what' and 'when' of the work performed by the squad through ongoing planning and prioritization, to enable the squad to work iteratively, innovate when appropriate, celebrate successes, and learn from failures. You will also be committed to maintaining and developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.

You will work in partnership with the Product Area Leader, team members, and chapter leaders within the Private Markets segment for Stock Plan Services. By role modeling and promoting Fidelity leadership principles, you will promote and sustain an innovative and forward-leaning culture.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 10+ years experience and demonstrated achievement in product/project management, product or systems design/development, and/or new product development
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, computer science, engineering or other quantitative field preferred
  • Private Company Capitalization Table, Equity Financing and Administration, Financial Services experience preferred
  • Passion for product design and development using best practices such as Agile, Design Thinking, and Job-to-be-Done frameworks. Strong technical abilities supporting platform strategy, design, and implementation within the technology and organizational systems associated within large enterprises
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of distilling insights and customer behaviors leveraging data driven hypothesis from abstract and unstructured data to understanding client needs, translate them into strategic goals, prioritize to enhance value delivered, and action them into delivery
  • You are energized by working collaboratively to deliver agreed business outcomes, drawing on the expertise of colleagues to inform the approach and remove impediments to making progress
  • You are capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high-performing teams
  • You have a continuous improvement approach and are intellectually curious and model a culture of learning and coaching

The Value You Deliver

  • Defining, refining, and communicating your team's mission to squad members and business partners to empower and rally support
  • Anticipating, discovering, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as the voice of the clients and guide execution of the squad
  • Measuring performance through established critical metrics and delivering agreed upon business, technology, and people results
  • Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments for your squad
  • Defining, presenting, and evaluating results against agreed acceptance criteria
  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines

The Team

Stock Plan Services (SPS) provides companies with outstanding administration for their equity compensation programs, including stock option, restricted stock, employee stock purchase, stock appreciate and performance plans. The SPS Private Markets segment services late-stage, enterprise and pre-IPO clients with a full suite of private company administrative needs including capitalization table management, equity financing support, liquidity solutions, next round and waterfall exit modelling, document storage and electronic execution, board management tools, and employee onboarding support.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
