SVP FBOT Head of Strategy, Planning and Central Finance

Fidelity Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology seeks a highly experienced and motivated strategy and professional for the role of Head of Strategy, Planning and Central Finance. This role is a highly collaborative position which requires regular active engagement with the Head of Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology ('FBOT'), the FBOT senior team, and other senior leaders throughout the firm. Providing thought leadership on strategic, financial, and operating stability and resilience and identifying implications for business goals and objectives.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
An advanced degree, (MBA or Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of consulting or strategy experience), and professional accreditation is required. We are looking for expertise in strategy, development, consulting, financial planning, business enablement and engagement. Deep expertise in program management of large, complex, and highly visible cross organization initiatives. Outstanding communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate and achieve results through others including direct reports and business partners. Proven ability to translate strategy into action that drives clear and measurable outcomes.

The skills you bring are:

  • Proven ability to provide structure, coordination, and Chief of Staff support to ensure FBOT Senior Team engagement on relevant topics internal and external to FBOT.
  • Lead development of FBOT’s Strategic Plan and resourcing in alignment with business partners and ensure operating plans support execution of key objectives.
  • Provide consulting and execution support on strategic programs that span multiple functions across FBOT (e.g., FCASH Conversions / analysis, Brokerage Committee, Alts, other).
  • Develop new ways to promote and grow engagement and strengthen culture across sites and to inform associates of milestones & highlight contributions to our collective success, including the Operations Council.
  • Provide oversight leadership and expertise to allow FBOT to effectively and efficiently understand and manage risk, legal and regulatory duties through broad program management.
  • Create, facilitate, and lead preparation of Executive, Board, and Operating Committee analyses and presentations, including leadership of financial portions of QBR and planning discussions with FBOT SMT and other senior audiences.
  • FP&A activities (strategic and multi-year planning, budgeting and forecasting; financial close for income statement and balance sheet; revenue and expense analysis; in support of FBOT.

As the Head of Strategy, Planning and Central Finance you will also be expected to facilitate the consolidation and delivery of the overall strategy for FBOT business, manifested in a multi-year plan and implementation of key elements, which will include:

  • Articulation of our top priorities and the bodies of work that will align to those priorities.
  • Development and maintenance of leadership scorecards that align tightly to the strategy plan.
  • Budget creation that can deliver success against strategic priorities while meeting financial constraints.
  • Provide leadership and management of select top strategic priorities, including connecting the strategic goals outlined in the MYP to business results.
  • Facilitate and support the FBOT leadership team’s discussion of strategic and financial priorities.
  • Build and deliver updates on the financial and strategic performance of the business within FBOT and across the rest of the firm.
  • Partner with the corporate center on a variety of regular and ad-hoc financial and strategic processes to drive decision making, enable visibility and ensure tighter alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Team with FBOT communications to support communications from the Head of Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology and the Head of FBOT Finance and Strategy.
  • Develop new ideas and concepts to provoke dialog and challenge the thinking behind our strategy and plan.
  • Maintain strategy and planning lead connections across FBOT and the firm by creating regular touchpoints.

The Team
The Fund and Brokerage Operations & Technology Strategy and Finance team partners across FBOT to drive long-term focus and execution of its strategic objectives and uphold fiduciary standards for Fidelity. The team further supports the FBOT organization by providing financial expertise and insights, leading strategic initiatives, providing independent oversight of investment offerings, supporting Fund Boards, and more. As the leader of Strategy, Planning, Business Engagement, and Central Finance, you will lead a talented team and will be accountable for continued growth and development.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
