Position Description:

Automates the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by hosting in a Cloud infrastructure, deployments through Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies, and maintains Application Programming Interface (API) Platform and iOS mobile applications. Integrates monitoring and logging services using Datadog and Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudWatch. Implements and maintains CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and reliable software delivery to Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS) clusters for API Platform. Builds Docker images and sets up custom Kubernetes frameworks to integrate with different clusters and environments. Writes custom Identity and Access Management (IAM) templates for Roles Based Access Controls (RBAC) and creates Terraform and CloudFormation scripts for Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Creates, maintains, and automates CI/CD for mobile applications to go through different code scanners to ensure the application is reliable and bug free when releasing to AppStore.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Builds, automates and maintains large-scale highly distributed systems infrastructure to host applications in multi environment and cluster setup.

  • Monitors and logs systems to ensure cluster level metrics and reliability.

  • Coordinates software system installation and monitors its functioning to ensure specifications are met.

  • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

  • Mediates cross team functionality for integration and support.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing scalable Cloud-based solutions, delivering software applications, and processing workloads in AWS environments.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing scalable Cloud-based solutions, delivering software applications, and processing workloads in AWS environments.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and automating, scalable and secure AWS infrastructure Cloud architectures, to build end-to-end, 3-tier Web and API applications, using Cloud Designer and IaC tools (Terraform and CloudFormation); and creating robust and efficient architectures for modern applications, using AWS services -- Load Balancers, API Gateway, Aurora RDS (Relational Database), DynamoDB (Non-Relational Database), and EKS.

  • DE developing CI/CD using Jenkins pipelines to automate various business use cases; deploying containerized microservices applications to EKS clusters for best Agile and DevOps practices; creating Jenkins pipelines to provision different Relational and Non-Relational Databases, run full database migrations, and update schemas and state in Postgres RDS instances within any environment; and automating Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and AWS IAM to implement least privilege identity and authorization for team members, using Jenkins.

  • DE monitoring and logging microservices applications running in EKS clusters, using Datadog to capture logs and metrics for Root Cause Analysis (RCA); upgrading tools using Helm charts; maintaining SSL certificates using Venafi service portal; patching infrastructure using Shell scripting and AWS Systems Manager; and maintaining project repositories and IT service management, using Service-Now.

  • DE configuring custom MacOS Jenkins agents to automate build, test, and deploy pipelines and streamline the iOS mobile release process; and designing and implementing a systematic release process, using Xcode, Fastlane, Jenkins, Vault, and SonarQube, to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of iOS applications to the App Store, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Salary: $127,450.00 - $141,000.00/year.
