Job Description

Fraud Risk & Control Detection Team is looking for a Data Scientist to join a growing team. The team’s focus is building innovative models for fraud detection. This role will be responsible for working closely with data scientists, data engineers, technical leads and product managers to bring game-changing models to production.

The Team

Frad Risk & Control Detection is a growing team of analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers building out fraud detection capacities within Fidelity.

The Expertise You Have

  • MS in data science, statistics or similar quantitative field, and 4+ years practical experience on the job

  • PhD in data science, statistics or similar quantitative field, and 2+ years practical experience on the job

  • Hands on expertise in data extraction, cleaning, and preparation; feature extraction; model training and evaluation

  • Proven experience building analytics that deliver useful insights from large datasets

  • Proven track record of delivering production machine learning tools that solve business problems

The Skills You Bring

  • Excellent programming skills in Python and Pandas.

  • Familiarity with Sagemaker and PyCharm is a plus.

  • Excellent experience in standard machine learning approaches, statistics, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and deep learning techniques

  • Strong communication skills, you are able to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive problem definitions and meet business requirements

  • Bonus points for building production ML model containers at scale (Docker, SageMaker, Flask, Aerospike)

  • Bonus points for dashboarding capabilities (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)

The Value You Deliver

  • Build data science applications from inception to production

  • Work well as part of an interdisciplinary team whose members will include data scientists, software engineers, data engineers and product managers.

  • Be able to present and communicate key findings and project progress to senior business leaders

The base salary range for this position is $97,000-185,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
