Job Description:

Senior Systems Analyst

The Role

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact? Join a dynamic, collaborative team dedicated to enhancing our Investment Research capabilities within Asset Management’ Portfolio Management and Research team.

This role is a valued member of a team that empowers our Investment Professionals with cutting-edge technology to stay updated on market developments and effectively share insights throughout our portfolio construction process. We create tools that enable our analysts to gather and publish research on companies and issuers, providing Portfolio Managers and Investors with actionable intelligence to build their funds and generate alpha.

As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will provide analysis leadership across complex, multi‑system initiatives, partnering closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
You will work in a modern, cloud‑based technology environment, helping translate business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications while assessing system interfaces, data flows, and architectural dependencies.

This role requires a strong technical foundation—including hands‑on familiarity with databases, APIs, and Java‑based environments—as well as practical exposure to Generative AI concepts and tools used to enhance analysis, documentation, and delivery workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead systems analysis efforts for medium to large, complex initiatives spanning multiple applications and platforms

  • Analyze and reverse‑engineer existing applications to understand system behavior, integrations, and dependencies

  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria

  • Partner with engineering teams to evaluate APIs, data contracts, and service integrations

  • Perform data analysis using relational databases to validate requirements, identify gaps, and support decision‑making

  • Create and maintain system artifacts such as process flows, data flow diagrams, interface definitions, and context diagrams

  • Collaborate closely with product owners, engineers, and business partners in Agile delivery environments

  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

  • Apply Generative AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, including assisting with analysis, documentation, summarization, and ideation activities

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis practices, tooling, and standards within the systems analysis community

  • Leading team refinement sessions to ensure stories are clear and ready for sprint planning

  • Ownership of user story sign-off, ensuring the delivery meets the requirements and has passed all tests (automated and manual)

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Ideally 5+ years of experience in systems analysis or a closely related role

  • Proven ability to work independently on complex problems while collaborating effectively across teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong experience as a Systems Analyst working on enterprise or cloud‑based applications

  • Solid understanding of Java‑based application architectures and ability to read or reason about code for analysis purposes

  • Hands‑on experience working with APIs (RESTful services, request/response models, error handling, versioning concepts)

  • Proficiency writing SQL and working with relational databases to analyze data and validate system behavior

  • Familiarity with modern cloud architectures and integration patterns

  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery models

  • Hands‑on experience supporting test automation and ensuring quality leveraging tools like Playwright

Generative AI Exposure (Required Awareness, Not Model Building)

  • Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts (e.g., large language models, prompt‑based interactions, strengths and limitations)

  • Practical experience using GenAI tools to assist with day‑to‑day work, such as:

    • Drafting or refining requirements and technical documentation

    • Summarizing complex materials or discussions

    • Supporting analysis, brainstorming, or solution exploration

  • Understanding of responsible and secure use of GenAI within an enterprise environment
