Director, Real Estate Strategy

The Role

As Director on the Real Estate Strategy Team, you will work across functions in Real Estate to develop short-term and long-term strategies that support Fidelity's businesses and achieve Real Estate objectives. This includes analysis and recommendations around multi-year capital investment, leasing and transaction decisions, portfolio optimization, and critical cross-portfolio initiatives. You will lead a team and be responsible for the planning process to build the 5-year capital investment plan through partnership with leaders across Real Estate and the business. Additionally, this high impact role will drive executive level decision-making by developing business cases to frame options and achieve funding approval for multi-million capital investments. You will bring structured problem-solving and storytelling ability to the team and have a keen interest in how Fidelity optimizes its physical footprint, supports the business, and improves the onsite associate experience.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy and planning functions, business development, strategic real estate management, or related fields; bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus

  • Proven ability to define and articulate strategy, including using data and insights to tell compelling stories and inform executive decision-making

  • Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and exercise autonomy to organize and prioritize tasks

  • Ability to develop logically structured presentations and narratives for executive audiences

  • Proven experience developing a team including coaching, counseling and career guidance

  • Proven track record of performing detailed analyses and building frameworks to organize information, break down problems, and frame opportunities

  • Executive presence and confidence in communication with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Comfort and success working in a fast-paced culture with high visibility and many concurrent priorities

  • Ability to apply knowledge of Real Estate functions, properties, and processes to provide insight into complex strategic challenges

  • Expert proficiency in presentation tools including PowerPoint and Excel

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with outstanding work quality

  • Knowledge of Fidelity’s businesses, culture, and ways of working is a plus for navigating the organization and achieving goals

The Team

Fidelity Real Estate Company is the corporate real estate division of Fidelity Investments, offering a full range of services to Fidelity business units nationally and internationally. Our philosophy is customer centric - everything we do focuses on delivering solutions that meet or exceed the needs of our customers at all levels. We manage more than 11 million square feet of space in the United States and overseas, including thirteen North American and six international locations, multiple data centers, and more than 200 retail investor centers.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$222,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
