The Role
The main functions of this role include financial analysis, modeling, reporting and executive communication support. The Financial Analyst will work primarily within a collaborative team of Analyst and Director level peers. This team/role also works closely with accounting, tax, finance and business associates from across the firm.
The successful candidate will be capable of supporting multiple projects across all areas of focus. They will have a proven record of effectively contributing to complex analysis, can multi-task successfully, and be a great teammate who thrives in a small, impactful work environment.
The Expertise You Have
- Knowledge of financial model design and visualization (using tools such as Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding of the treasury function, with particular emphasis on capital and liquidity management as well as capital markets and treasury management products.
- Demonstrated financial statement analysis ability to identify/resolve detailed financial issues while understanding larger business context.
- Experience with data science methods such as: statistical analysis, predictive modeling, simulation modeling is preferred.
- Motivated teammate, willing to take on new challenges when presented with opportunities.
- CFA (or candidate) preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling experience.
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg in data gathering and research, especially in fixed income area.
- Experience in balance sheet risk management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with and influence various levels of management.
- Ability to work with multiple partners, within Treasury, throughout the firm, and externally.
- Self-starter with ability to take initiative, learn quickly, work independently as well as across the organization, and operate in a dynamic, team oriented, fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality
- Responsible for analyses related to liquidity, capital structure and cost of capital including debt analysis, investment and valuations for Fidelity Investments’ parent corporation.
- Monitor credit and debt capital markets to support decision making.
- Assist with the investment aspect of liquidity diversification program.
- Support Treasury’s transformation from a data and analytics perspective.
- Assist with cash flow, capital and dividend forecasting across different Fidelity business divisions.
- Support multiple projects across all focus areas through data gathering, modeling, analysis and transaction execution.
- Assess issues and present analyses with recommendations to enable decision-making by senior management.
- Provide executive communication support.
The Team
Based within Corporate Treasury, the Capital Planning Group provides in-depth analytical support for Senior management in Treasury and Finance of FMR LLC, Fidelity Investments’ parent corporation. This support extends firm-wide in areas of capital, financial performance, credit, borrowing, and industry/competitive analysis. Areas of focus include: Cash Flow and Balance Sheet Analysis, Liquidity Management, Investment Analysis, Capital Structure Management, Risk Management, Financial Modeling, Scenario Planning, Strategic Planning Support, and Executive Communications Support.
*We are considering candidates at the Associate Financial Analyst and Financial Analyst level and may hire at either level based on experience and qualifications.
The base salary range for this position is $67,000-$127,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
