Position Description:

Develops roadmaps for current and targeted business and technical capabilities through comprehensive process, data, and solution analysis, using project management tools -- Jira and Jira Align. Expands portfolio monitoring, construction, and execution capabilities and develops dynamic implementation solutions. Integrates investment processes within the technology infrastructure and implements investment strategies. Analyzes portfolio construction, attribution, and risk data, using SQL, Python, and Insomnia. Presents findings using business process tools -- Draw.IO, Confluence, and Business Process Modelling tools. Collaborates on technical solution assessments using C4 Architecture diagramming, Amazon Web Services (AWS) toolsets, Angular/React JS, and Java.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides subject-matter expertise and influences business priority, strategy, product design, operating model, and implementation plans.
  • Builds a deep understanding of the overall portfolio construction and implementation process across different product fund groups and advocates for the team in technology and operations focused meetings.
  • Documents business capabilities and requirements for technology projects.
  • Partners with investment and technology professionals to drive development requirements.
  • Enables alignment between data management and investment processes.
  • Evaluates, improves, and implements operational controls and procedures.
  • Applies technology-based solutions to internal control processes.
  • Establishes streamlined and efficient processing capabilities for core processing and servicing tasks.
  • Partners with trading desks, custodians, and data providers to onboard new financial products.
  • Works with compliance partners to set up pre-trade and post-trade compliance processes.
  • Assists and supports large-scale project implementations.
  • Manages vendor and consultant relationships related to the investment operations program.
  • Participates in key programs and projects designed to enable business growth.
  • Collaborates the design of and implements capabilities required for existing and future digital asset investment projects.
  • Stays up-to-date on applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and technology landscape.
  • Identifies risks and develops preventive measures.
  • Prepares and reviews operational or project progress reports.
  • Generates custom reports using software programs and vendor data.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director Investment Architecture (or closely related occupation) defining strategy and business requirements to develop technology solutions for multi-asset class investment products in a cloud-based AWS environment, using Angular, React JS, Python and Java ecosystems.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director Investment Architecture (or closely related occupation) defining strategy and business requirements to develop technology solutions for multi-asset class investment products in a cloud-based AWS environment, using Angular, React JS, Python and Java ecosystems.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing and enabling Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and Scaled Agile) to allow faster time-to-market and improve coordination between multiple teams for complex projects; performing backlog management and story mapping using RICE; refining product backlog to manage sprints prioritization, using Jira, Trello, or Asana; overseeing and conducting risk management, cost management, budgeting, and forecasting, using MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, and Jira to identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle; and developing and executing product strategies, and prioritizing features and tasks based on business value and customer impact, using Tableau, Miro, and Jira Product Discovery.
  • DE implementing updates for Web applications throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Jira, Confluence, Github, and bitbucket; documenting business requirements to ensure alignment with project goals, using Jira and Confluence; performing business process mapping and building new processes to create scale and efficiency (using Visio, Promapp, and Draw.IO) and reduce operational risk for investment strategies (using Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, Kaizen, and Comparative analysis and benchmarking); creating architectural blueprints and design specifications and managing the development and deployment process, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, using Docker, Jenkins, Bamboo, Splunk, and ServiceNow.
  • DE designing and implementing solutions (database design and model) for relational and non-relational databases, using Erwin, ER/Studio, and Enterprise Architect; and ensuring data security (including data encryption, Access Control Lists (ACL), AWS Secrets Manager, and Server-Side Encryption (SSE)) and compliance with regulations (National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and US Department of Treasury), using Data Warehousing and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes on Cloud platforms -- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • DE translating portfolio construction and implementation business processes into business capabilities and requirements using supporting technology for Holdings (MorningStar Direct and Bloomberg), Security Reference (Security master and Enterprise Data Management (EDM)), IBOR/ABOR (Charles River or InvestOne), Benchmark (Bloomberg, eVestment, and Factset), and Instruments – Risk and Rating (S&P, Moody’s, and Fitch).

Salary: $158,100.00 - $168,100.00/year.
