The Role
The Portfolio Services team within Liquid Alts Investment Services provides critical support to the investment organization to help ensure the integrity of the operational landscape and serve as a primary point of contact for investment professionals. We do this by taking the lead on new product implementation and product updates, troubleshooting problems, addressing business partner inquiries, coordinating cross-company initiatives, and driving efficient business processes. This role will have a focus on new instrument testing and implementation, in support of our Liquid Alternative products.

The Director of Portfolio Services is a leader who demonstrates the ability to manage complex projects, help triage business issues, establish efficient and effective processes, and maintain relationships across the organization in support of critical strategic priorities. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate the ability to lead complex initiatives, drive creative solutions, and be highly flexible in an extremely dynamic environment.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 7plus years working experience
- Bachelor's degree required, CFA, CAIA or progress towards is preferred
- Broad-based Fidelity and/or investment industry experience primarily focused on supporting investment processes, including strong knowledge of front-, middle- and back-office investment functions and operations
- Working knowledge of complex instrument types (e.g., Futures, Options, Equity TRS, CDX, IRS, FX Forwards, Swaptions, etc.) Familiarity with derivative lifecycle events including settlements, collateral, clearing, pricing, and related reference data
- Strong understanding of different strategy structures or legal wrappers (e.g., mutual funds - 40-Act/81-102, ETFs, hedge funds, limited partnerships, etc.)
- Strong project-management skills; can think end-to-end about processes and workflows
- Demonstrated relationship building and influence capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
The Successful Candidate will:
- Support strategic cross-advisor new instrument testing and enablement
- Provide Derivatives subject matter expertise and advise on industry best practices
- Engage with portfolio teams to develop roadmap to deliver key capabilities to meet the demands of product pipeline
- Serve as central point of contact for coordination with all support functions for new derivatives (e.g., Futures, Options, Total Return Swaps, Swaptions, CDS/X, FX, Inflation, etc.)
- Establish point of accountability for cross-AM derivatives program/implementation
- Drive the implementation of derivatives platform and associated control/oversight/monitoring processes
- Develop framework with operations partners (FFIO) to ensure required processing, settlement, and ongoing maintenance of derivative instruments and serve as escalation contact
- Build a framework to monitor and report on the end-to-end derivative lifecycle across AM, Treasurer’s Office and FFIO teams’ (e.g., Complex Securities Committee)
- Establish governance framework with appropriate teams to understand changes and implications to global regulatory and market structure and coordinate implementation of required changes
- Work with technology counterparts to identify, prioritize, and implement enhancements
- Partner with Derivatives Risk Manager (DRM) to develop and implement a derivatives play-book (i.e., training curriculum), outlining different types of derivatives, why/how they are used (i.e., investment rationale) and implemented, etc.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
