The Role

The PB Optimize Associate is an entry point into a growing FinTech platform serving the hedge fund industry. This role provides exposure to product development, client consulting, data analytics, and platform operations while working closely with clients, brokers, product managers, and technology teams. The successful candidate will be curious, analytical, and eager to learn complex financial workflows. This position offers significant opportunities to contribute to new product initiatives, influence platform enhancements, and develop expertise in portfolio finance, treasury management, and client solutions.

Operations:

  • Daily File Ingestion: Monitor and support client implementation activities and contribute to a positive onboarding experience.
  • Data Issue Resolution: Research and resolve daily data issues such as file size variances, data anomalies, and failed jobs, maintaining data integrity and reliability.
  • Account and Security Setup: Collaborate with clients and brokers to map new accounts and set up unknown securities, ensuring seamless integration into our system.
  • Exception Management: Conduct daily reviews and sign-offs of PBO processing exceptions in Actimize, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Client Integration Support: Work closely with the PBO Product Consulting team to assist with new client integrations and file onboarding, facilitating a smooth transition.

Product Management:

  • Project Backlog Management: Gather and analyze client feedback to identify opportunities for platform enhancements and workflow improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with development and business teams to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our operational tools.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations that improve user experience, efficiency, and scalability.

Projects:

  • Audit Assistance: Support internal and external audits by working closely with the PBO team and auditors, answering questions, and providing requested data samples.
  • Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor newer associates, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment. Ensure the team understands the impact of their work on the platform’s success and client satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Document process flows and create procedures for functions performed, ensuring clarity and consistency in operations.
  • Workflow/System Improvements: Identify workflow and system improvements, working with the team to enact changes that drive operational excellence.
  • Contribute to special projects that enhance platform functionality and support business objectives.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operations, product management, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., Actimize, data management systems).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across business and technology teams.

PB Optimize is a portfolio finance and treasury technology solution that is transforming how hedge fund clients manage their assets. Since its launch in 2012, we have expanded to serve approximately 300 clients and we continue to grow. The team operates in a fast-paced and challenging competitive environment.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $70,000-100,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
