The Position
The QRI Investment Services team is part of the Asset Management Investment Services team, providing daily operational support to the Quantitative Research and Investments (QRI) team. The Director, QRI Investment Services, will have responsibility for tasks and functions supporting investment professionals. The primary focus will be on the daily investment operations tasks supporting the Active Quant portfolio process, and will include daily data reconciliations, trade flow monitoring and other investment process support functions. The role will require collaboration with various groups across Fidelity, and alignment with the portfolio management teams to support their daily needs
The QRI Investment Services team is part of the Asset Management Compliance, Risk and Business Operations (CRBO) team, providing daily operational support to the Quantitative Research and Investments (QRI) team. The Director, QRI Investment Services will have responsibility for tasks and functions supporting investment professionals on the Advanced Strategies and Research team. The primary focus will be on the daily investment operations tasks supporting the Active Quant portfolio process, and will include daily data reconciliations, trade flow monitoring and other investment process support functions. The role will require collaboration with various groups across Fidelity, and alignment with the portfolio management teams to support their daily needs.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 10 plus years working experience in financial services
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Familiarity with database and SQL and/or python concepts is a plus
- Comfortable working with investors and a passion for learning various investment processes
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to manage time sensitive workflows
- Project management skills; experience contributing to and/or managing projects with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and comfortable in an environment of shifting priorities
- Analytic skills allowing you to perform various data analyses
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking the initiative and owning the outcome
- Familiarity with investment or operations in fixed income asset class and alternative strategies (e.g., long/short strategies)
Responsibilities
- Mature understanding of all aspects of the quantitative investment process, including data inputs, data validation and workflows required for investment models
- Support daily investment process workflows, including data validation and cash management
- Develop workflow documentation and desktop procedures, and ensure processes alignment
- Support business priority changes and new requests
- Build and cultivate relationships across multiple internal teams, including Compliance, Technology, Product, and Trading
The Team
The Asset Management Investment Services team comprises the following teams, Business Operations and Strategy, Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations, Investment Services and Strategic Business Initiatives. The teams work together to support Asset Management’s strategic goals while being the best partner to the business to protect our clients via proactive compliance monitoring, risk oversight and strategic business planning. The team’s key organizational themes are business partnership and stewardship, platform modernization, innovation, and talent development.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
