Job Description

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the CIB / Digital & Platform Services, you will apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.

Job responsibilities

  • Collaborates with other software engineers and teams to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline
  • identifies problems and inefficient patterns in the DevOps pipeline and develops automated tools and processes to streamline the software build, test and deploy process.
  • Build Intelligent Automation solutions through scripting and automation tools
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog , should be able to build dashboard using these tools and analyze prod applications
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
  • Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize technology processes
  • Supports the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Experience with technologies such as CI/CD utilizing tools such as Github, Jenkins, Terraform etc.
  • Deep knowledge of Internet protocols and web services technologies e.g., Load balancer, HTTP, DNS, TCP/UDP, SOAP, JSON and REST
  • Strong experience in using industry standard monitoring tools e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk, AWS Cloud watch, Datadog, Grafana, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as Apache, Tomcat, networking terminology, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripting, Python, Ansible etc.)
  • Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.)
  • AWS / Terraform certified
  • RHEL certified
