Job Description:
The Corporate Finance Advisory (CFA) group is a global multidisciplinary team focused on differentiating J.P. Morgan's investment banking services. It comprises experts in corporate finance, M&A, financing solutions, tax, accounting, structured products, and derivatives. The group sits between the industry coverage teams and product teams (Equity/Debt Capital Markets, Derivatives, etc.) and focuses on complex or special situations that may require a novel solution or cross-sector analytics. This may include capital structure/capital allocation, structured M&A/strategic alternatives, creative financing solutions, or positioning clients for disruptive events or emerging trends.

As a J.P. Morgan Investment Banking Analyst/Associate, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Producing quantitative and qualitative analysis to make broader financing and capital structure recommendations
• Assessing financial implications of a wide range of transactions and associated capital structures
• Participating in complex deal structuring for both M&A and capital raising transactions
• Conducting industry and product research, including producing content around trending topics
• Performing financial analysis using industry-standard and proprietary models
• Building financial models to address problems in relation to capital structure, credit ratings, and financing solutions
• Learning and interacting with J.P. Morgan's clients, products, services, and business practices
• Preparing presentation materials and participating in deal pitches
• Executing client transactions from inception to closing

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline (graduate degree in a similar field preferred); CFA is a plus
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills
• Intellectual curiosity with the ability to think creatively and “outside the box” in Corporate Finance Advisory
• Self-directed, adaptable, and able to manage projects independently while taking on a high level of responsibility
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a productive member of a team
• Native or business/professional-level Japanese language proficiency strongly preferred
• Prior experience in investment banking, capital markets, or sales & trading is a plus
