Help local corporate clients make confident financial decisions in dynamic markets. You will advise senior finance stakeholders on risk management, liquidity, and broader financial solutions, and drive high-quality execution that delivers measurable client outcomes. You will collaborate with product partners and control functions to structure, coordinate, and deliver solutions in line with client objectives and risk appetite. You will also contribute to a strong team culture through coaching and best-practice sharing as the business grows.
As a Vice President, China Local Corporate Sales in the Corporate Client Solutions team, you will own a portfolio of local corporate clients and partner with them to identify needs, originate opportunities, and deliver integrated financial solutions. You will be accountable for revenue outcomes, pipeline discipline, and consistent execution standards while building trusted senior relationships across your client base. You will work closely with product specialists and internal partners, including credit risk, legal, and compliance, to deliver solutions aligned to strong conduct, risk, and controls.
Job responsibilities
- Partner closely with Trading, Banking, Structuring, and DCM teams to deliver comprehensive coverage of Chinese local corporate clients across macro products, with a focus on FX and Rates ideas and cash management solutions.
- Own end-to-end coverage for a defined local corporate client portfolio, including account planning, client engagement, and senior relationship development.
- Originate and develop opportunities by diagnosing client objectives across liquidity, risk management, funding, and balance sheet needs.
- Structure, coordinate, and execute client solutions by mobilizing relevant product partners, ensuring clear roles, timelines, and deliverables.
- Build and manage a robust origination pipeline, maintain accurate customer relationship management system records, and deliver credible revenue forecasting.
- Coordinate with credit risk on limit requests, utilization, and transaction approvals, clearly articulating rationale and proposed risk mitigants.
- Uphold risk, control, and regulatory standards, including know your customer and anti-money laundering requirements, suitability, disclosures, and recordkeeping.
- Coach and mentor junior team members on coverage discipline, analytics, documentation, and controls, reinforcing a culture of accountability and inclusion.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 7 years of experience in corporate sales, private banking (investment advisory/consulting), markets sales, or other client-facing financial solutions roles serving Chinese corporate clients.
- Demonstrated capability to originate business, expand relationships, and deliver measurable revenue outcomes.
- Working knowledge of corporate financial solutions spanning liquidity, risk management, funding, and balance sheet topics, with the ability to translate needs into actionable execution plans.
- Proven ability to advise senior finance stakeholders, including treasurers and chief financial officers, with clear written and verbal communication.
- Strong transaction execution and negotiation skills, with disciplined conduct, risk, and control awareness.
- Experience partnering across product specialists and control functions, including credit risk, legal, and compliance.
- Proficiency using a customer relationship management system and sales analytics tools to manage pipeline and forecasting.
- Sound judgment with a track record of escalating issues appropriately and completing documentation and controls requirements.
- Relevant regulatory certifications or licenses as required by local regulation for client coverage and sales activity.
- Mandarin proficiency
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder solution execution across multiple product partners.
- Sector coverage experience aligned to local corporate client needs.
- Strong understanding of corporate treasury concepts, including working capital, liquidity management, and risk governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with treasury or enterprise systems and digital client channels that support scalable execution and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring junior sales professionals and supporting team development.
- Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Professional designations such as Chartered Financial Analyst or Financial Risk Manager.
