We are looking for someone with:
5-7+ years of experience with cyber defense;
5-7+ years of experience with network protocol analysis, NIDS/NIPS, host-based analysis, endpoint detection and response (EDR) tool use and analysis
Experience with Tanium, MS Defender (Endpoint/Mobile), Carbon Black, and/or Symantec Endpoint Protection products
Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent military experience
Solid understanding of Operating System fundamentals and administration
Experience with SIEM and log analytics
Experience with scripting (e.g., python, perl, powershell, etc.)
Strong verbal/written communication with abilities, and ability to work with a globally-distributed team
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
relevant certifications an asset: Security+, CISSP, CEH, CISM, ISSAP, ISSEP
Familiarity with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
On the job you will:
Ensures physical and virtual infrastructure support platform and software operations
Upgrades and integrates new technologies; maintains existing technologies
Documents critical dependencies and issues where necessary
Resolves critical technical issues relating to software or hardware
Ensures that the information security requirements necessary to protect the organization’s core mission and business processes are adequately addressed
Analyzes core reasons for security breaches and proactively takes steps to correct them
Installs and operates security measures
Responds rapidly to security incidents
Minimal time coaching teammates
Promotes security and secure practices across the organization
Designs, builds and defends scalable, secure, and robust systems
Develops or implements third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats
Implements protections to enhance cyber, access and data security
Perform deployment, management, tuning, and troubleshooting of all host and network based tools supporting the cyber defense mission
When necessary, support Security and/or IT incident management as it relates to host and network based tools
Ensure all processes and procedures are well-defined, documented, tested and managed over time
Provide regular reporting to support health & welfare checks, KPI/KRI metrics, etc.
Provide SME support in developing use cases mapped to common frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK) for detecting new/evolving threats, including supporting content for security tools (e.g., SIEM rules, NIDS signatures, EDR content, etc.)
