Employment and on-the-job training: Internship placements include Fund Administration departments including but are not limited to Financial Reporting, Tax, Securities Valuation, Project Management, Compliance, Vendor Management as well as other areas of the organization that support the investment products such as Middle Office, Sales Support, Transfer Agency, Corporate Finance, Personal Investing, Retirement Trust Operations, Product Development, Data Science and Information Technology etc.
Programming: Executive Speaker Series will provide a focused perspective on aspects of the John Hancock mutual fund and retirement businesses
Mentorship: Each intern will be assigned a mentor who will serve as a coach and provide advice and guidance
Volunteering: Give back to the community by participating in a local opportunity to support an important core value of the organization
Industry Related Project Presentation: Develop slide deck and present to senior management, peers, and other individuals within the program
Mandatory participation in program for the full 11 weeks
How you’ll make an impact
Learning and completing certain tasks within your assigned team
Contributing to solve business challenges and address and escalate issues, as needed
Build your financial literacy of our business and asking probing questions to build your foundation of how the different investment products operate.
What you’ll bring to the team
Entering junior or senior year in an undergraduate program with a declared Business related major with an interest in building technical skills.
Interested in full-time employment in financial services operations post graduation
Punctual and ability to work in a hybrid work environment.
Strong communication skills
Excels academically: curriculum exposure to accounting, tax, economics, finance, business process reviews, general management, problem solving, and analytics are required.
