The Director Product Management responsible for supporting all John Hancock insurance product development initiatives for lines of business focusing on cash value accumulation. Infusing Insurance Product Management with keen technical analysis, and building strong relationships with other functional areas within US Insurance, including Distribution, IS, Operations, Marketing, Finance and Underwriting
How will you create impact?
Product Development: support cross-functional core teams in product development initiatives, ensuring that projects are implemented according to plan and that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively
Admin Support: Represent Product Management on IS implementation efforts for Day 2 admin work and other special projects; write business requirements and specs and ensure projects are delivered as intended
Distribution Support: Assist Distribution with technical questions relating to John Hancock’s life insurance products; assist on competitive cases to ensure JH’s products are presented in the best possible manner; present to distributors on JH’s products as requested
Idea Generation & Execution: Develop new ideas for product development projects, admin enhancements, and product marketing stories, and bring these ideas to market
Contribute to and help maintain shared databases; promptly satisfy an array of ad-hoc requests from key stakeholders throughout JH Life

What we are looking for
5-10 years’ experience in the insurance industry
Technical understanding of life insurance products
Experience with life insurance administrative systems a plus
Actuarial experience or credentials a plus
Demonstrated ability to break down technical information and present to a senior management audience
Ability to analyze extensive amounts of data and information and present key findings in a way that gets the message across clearly to a variety of partners.
Excellent communication (particularly written) and interpersonal skills to deal with both technical and non-technical audiences and customers.
Track record of thriving under tight deadlines
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create pivot tables and write macros (VBA programming a plus)
Ability to translate ideas into clearly defined and executable business requirements

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary LocationBoston, Massachusetts
Salary range is expected to be between$111,900.00 USD - $201,420.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
