National Account VP
John Hancock
The National Account Vice President for Producer Group Distribution plays a key role in driving John Hancock’s sales growth by expanding relationships with producers and advisors specializing in the high-net-worth market. This position requires exceptional leadership to address the unique demands of Producer Group Accounts, which often involve specialized support and concierge-level service to meet the needs of top advisors.
In this role, you will collaborate with executive teams and support staff at Producer Group Accounts to identify high-potential producer relationships that align with John Hancock’s solution and capability set. You will also work directly with affiliated producers to promote John Hancock’s solutions and coordinate efforts across internal departments, including the John Hancock Sales & Distribution Team, Advanced Markets, New Business, Underwriting, and Operations, to deliver and accelerate growth effectively.
Position Responsibilities:
Results Driver: Lead the charge for maximizing business inside of the “market” of the Account. Lead the Account planning process effectively. Possess the financial and business acumen to build compelling Account growth plans.
Relationship Management: Establish excellent relationships with the executive teams and enterprise-level decision makers. Understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities, and create or find the resources needed to grow Accounts. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure John Hancock is positioned for success.
Strategy: Work closely with the JH Distribution Leadership Team to identify the most promising producer relationships that align to John Hancock’s broader strategic priorities and capabilities, and then work with the appropriate Regional Vice Presidents and Market Development Directors to deliver on these opportunities. Break down barriers that may hinder collaboration to grow Accounts.
Innovate: Think expansively about the value John Hancock can bring to bear across all capability sets of the organization and create compelling and inspiring ideas to bring to decision makers to grow Accounts.
Technical Expert: Design and deliver effective sales messages virtually and in-person at meetings. Be proficient with Product, sales concepts, problem-solving, the use of technology to craft the best solutions. Provide effective feedback loops to critical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience in life insurance sales & distribution and a bachelor’s Degree
Life Insurance License, Securities Licenses (FINRA Series 6/7, 63/66)
Life Insurance expertise and industry knowledge – experience with both fixed and variable life insurance products; an understand of financial, wealth transfer, and estate planning concepts that incorporate life insurance as a key solution; well-connected and easily navigates the industry.
Servant Leadership Mindset – driven, influential, and inspiring person; strategic thinker, problem solver, and servant leader that can make things happen both on his/her own and by collaborating with others as part of a holistic team.
Consultative Relationship Management Abilities – Positive track record of understanding customer challenges and rolling out company created and value-added platforms (education, technology, planning tools, agency management systems, KPI’s, incentive plans, etc.) to address them.
Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinker and strategic mindset.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit.
Frequent travel – up to 50%.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
