The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Quality Engineer Manager to lead a team of Quality Engineers and create strategic plans for quality and test engineering processes, reporting, and metrics.
Office locations: Boston-USA (ideally) or Toronto-Canada
Work Arrangement: role requires to be Hybrid - 3 days in Office, 2 days from Home
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end QE test strategies to ensure delivery of high-quality products.
People Manager leading a team of Quality Engineers to drive use of best practices and adherence of end-to-end test engineering processes, career coaching, and direction to cultivate high-performing teams.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, IT leadership, development teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and priorities.
Ability to right-size testing efforts using predictive tools to meet changing demands of projects.
Ability to use test driven development to bring agility and subject matter expertise in driving speed to market.
Ability to lead product-driven teams and product-launches in an aggressive environment collaborating with multiple vendors.
Build strong relationships across the organization to remove QE roadblocks, and drive a culture of quality and continuous improvements.
Monitor QE metrics to measure the effectiveness of QE processes to identify and implement areas for improvement.
Actively participate in initiative and planning sessions to ensure QE Team members are allocated to the right work.
Required Experience / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years in leading large complex projects across multiple platforms/technologies with an eye for End to End Testing, ability to identify and categorize risks with application and database testing within a cross-functional domain and propose mitigations to reduce and/or eliminate risks.
3 + years of experience in compiling regression suites and advocating risk-based testing models.
3 + years of experience in coordinating & leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
4+ years of experience in using data tools for managing test data in large complex projects.
7+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, including the development and maintenance of automated tests using frameworks and technologies such as Selenium, REST Assured, Appium, etc.
Experience in at least one Programming Language such as Java, JavaScript or Python.
5+ years’ experience in a senior-level QA role, with a focus on leading QE Teams, and or QE transformation initiatives.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving results and delivering business impact.
Experience in implementing quality management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., Agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
Nice to have Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in defining and measuring key quality metrics and driving performance improvements.
Exposure to life insurance products, insurance products or financial products.

Salary range is expected to be between
$104,860.00 USD - $194,740.00 USDIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
