We are looking for a Senior Disaster Recovery Consultant to participate in key projects and initiatives ensuring information risk is always considered and handled.
The opportunity ensures accurate plan development, testing and maintenance of related applications and services in accordance with global/segment standards and guidelines. As a domain expert your focus will be to enable the business to achieve and maintain their targeted levels of Disaster Recovery testing. The position also has an outstanding opportunity to provide mentorship to our global partners in developing improved recovery methods and driving the adoption of improved testing/validation procedures with a goal of continuous improvement to Segment risk posture.
Position Responsibilities:
Work with IT and Project Management colleagues and vendors to ensure the required technical assets are resilient and systems are built with DR requirements embedded. You’ll be a DR Domain Expert on projects that apply various project management methodologies (mostly Agile) and current technologies.
Guide and assist with the selection of appropriate DR solutions or high availability configurations in a 95% cloud-based model.
Partner with teams to ensure accurate development and documentation of plans for business application resilience.
Through expert consultation, help US Segment IT identify and evaluate strategy options for the recovery of business applications and related services.
Work with Segment Risk Teams globally to identify areas of program improvement and drive execution through special projects and general working sessions
Work with the Global Risk Management team in the development of related DR policies and standards; perform segment gap analyses and work with business teams and technical teams to implement policies and processes throughout the segment.
Perform vendor risk assessment for new and existing third parties, ensuring DR posture meets business needs.
Support Second line, Audit or external parties as needed for evidence collection
Required Qualifications:
Valued: Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and testing in a large organization for 5+ years.
Require a self-motivated, critical objective problem solver who can demonstrate follow-through and resourcefulness to achieve valuable outcomes.
Demonstrate ability to see the big picture to drive efficiencies and develop new strategies
Possess a working technical knowledge of systems (client/server), networking (LAN/WAN), storage, resiliency configuration options and data replication methods
Experience with cloud-based architecture and industry standard recovery solutions
Achievement oriented with proven project management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
Ability to work with senior engineers in designing/validating recovery solutions
Ability to understand technical network and data flow
Demonstrable ability to establish relationships, engage and influence others, work with a diverse internal and international user community, as well as vendors.
University Degree (Computer Science, Business or Finance preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
Superb interpersonal skills (oral and written) including presentation skills and demonstrated ability to communicate at all organizational levels; includes ability to develop and deliver effective user education sessions to squads as needed
Professional certification in BCP - CBCP or MBCP preferred but not required

Salary range is expected to be between
$104,860.00 USD - $194,740.00 USDIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
