The Manager, GWAM IT Finance is a pivotal role within the IT Finance team, responsible for overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial reports and analysis, acting as a liaison with GWAM Asia, handling financial operations, and driving transformation activities. This role supports the Global Wealth Asset Management (GWAM) IT function in achieving its financial objectives and enhancing operational efficiency.
Position Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports for GWAM IT, ensuring accuracy and consistency across divisions. Conduct in-depth analyses on financial performance and expense management, and present regular updates to leadership
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the Director of GWAM IT Finance in preparing and coordinating forecasts and budgets. Assist with annual financial planning and monthly forecasting for the IT function
Asia Liaison: Act as the primary contact between the GWAM IT Finance team and Asia Finance, encouraging strong relationships and supporting financial analysis for regional projects
Financial Management: Perform key financial analyses, including budgeting, cost-benefit analyses, and project financials, to support decision-making
Transformation and Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, challenge the status quo, and support the Expense Finance in Transformation program. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify optimization opportunities
Data Management and Analysis: Use AI and data models to enhance financial analysis and reporting. Handle large volumes of data to generate actionable insights and narratives
Required Qualifications:
Financial planning and analysis experience, preferably within an IT function
Solid understanding of business practices, tools, controls, and accounting/audit principles
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
Understanding AI models and their associated tools is considered an asset
Build and maintain positive relationships with collaborators to support critical initiatives
Standout colleague, collaborative, self-starter, well-organized, innovative, and possessing strong initiative
Ability to influence others in aligning to a new vision; empower others to accept progress and change
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly
Professional designation (MBA/CPA) preferred with 5+ years of related experience

Salary range is expected to be between
$86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
