This position is for a senior marketing professional, responsible for bringing our well-known life insurance brand to life using compelling and effective messaging, deployed consistently and appropriately through our various marketing channels to amplify our marketing reach and optimize sales objectives. This person will work cross-functionally with global teams, especially the Asia RO, to ensure a strong brand voice on internal and external communications for Manulife Bermuda, Hong Kong, and Singapore, in alignment with greater business objectives.
The Global HNW Marketing Team owns the strategy and execution for product launches, distributor (BtoB) communications, sales enablement, inforce communications, marketing collateral, as well as owns the Global HNW distributor website and private LinkedIn channel. The Global HNW Marketing team is part of a larger marketing organization including brand, human centered design, analytics, integrated production and a third-party creative agency, Oliver. The teams work closely together to tell the Global HNW narrative, create connected distributor experiences, and demonstrate the business value of marketing.
Editorial & copywriting responsibilities:
Researching, writing, and editing: (100%)
Maintain a deep understanding of the life insurance industry and its key drivers
Leverage research and data to develop or bolster written work
Write compelling copy across a wide variety of assignments, both short-form and long-form
Work across the Global HNW businesses to develop clear, creative messaging that aligns with greater strategic goals
Establish and regulate a consistent writing style with firm editorial guidelines, developing the Global HNW Style Guide
Edit highly technical life insurance marketing copy, product guides, communications, etc.
Recognize and uphold Global HNW’s brand voice in all written communications
Leverage technology, including AI, and software platforms to collaborate, write, and publish work
Work closely with business leadership to capture their voices, POVs and ideas, and ensure our work is reflective of their visions
Collaborate with legal, compliance, design, production, and analytics to complete assignments
Develop strong working relationships with product and distribution teams and additional internal business partners supporting those areas of work, including PR, thought leadership, and internal communications
Maintain a level of professionalism consistent with one of the world’s most-respected life insurance brands
Decision authorities:
• Strongly influencing the direction and execution of external-facing communications
Strategic Consultation:
Develop relationships with internal (distribution, product, investment professionals, other Global HNW segments) and external (distribution, financial, healthcare, etc.) partners and service providers to deliver effective integrated marketing communications to meet the needs of all stakeholders
Help advise the best marketing strategy for optimal results, efficiency, and cost
Familiar with all creative/marketing projects to leverage and scale where applicable
Utilizes marketing trends and training to provide best service
Maintain a level of professionalism consistent with one of the world’s most respected life insurance brands
Team collaboration:
Share best practices and recent work
Staying current with competitors and trends within the global life insurance industry
Stay up to date with marketing trends
Qualifications:
Minimum of a BS/BA in marketing, communications, or related field plus 5-10 years business-related experience
Proven track record in successfully implementing communications and marketing strategies, delivering to deadline and meeting budget requirements
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage outside agencies
Strong knowledgeable of the life insurance and financial services insurance industry
Ability to work independently, often facing conflicting and overlapping demands
Excellent time and project management skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills

Salary range is expected to be between
$90,225.00 USD - $162,405.00 USDIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
