  • Partner closely with Loan Origination teams to provide transaction-level pricing analytics for new commercial mortgage opportunities.

  • Determine pricing adjustments necessary to reflect transaction structure, prepayment provisions, risk ratings, capital charges, funding considerations, embedded fees, and other deal-specific factors.

  • Provide and communicate pricing spread targets to Origination professionals and business leadership.

  • Explain pricing methodologies, model outputs, assumptions, and transaction-specific adjustments to stakeholders throughout the origination process.

  • Maintain, validate, and enhance pricing models and related analytical tools.

  • Develop new analytical solutions and Excel-based tools to address pricing questions and evolving business needs.

Allocation Management and Client Reporting

  • Support and enhance the allocation process used to allocate new lending opportunities among the General Account and third-party client portfolios.

  • Prepare and review reporting provided to third-party investment clients.

  • Participate in discussions with third-party clients regarding portfolio performance and composition.

  • Ensure allocation decisions and related reporting comply with client mandates, internal investment policies, and applicable regulatory requirements, including the SEC 17d-1 Order governing certain third-party client portfolios.

Strategic and Enterprise Initiatives

  • Represent REFG in major cross-functional and corporate initiatives involving the commercial mortgage portfolio.

  • Contribute to corporate reinsurance transactions, commercial mortgage default studies, and commercial mortgage risk rating methodology initiatives.

  • Serve as a key contributor to the evaluation and implementation of new REFG lending initiatives, investment products, and strategic business opportunities.

Accounting, Regulatory, and Risk Analytics

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of IFRS 9 and NAIC statutory accounting treatment applicable to commercial mortgage investments.

  • Analyze expected credit loss, staging, risk rating migration, and other credit-related measures.

  • Work with accounting, risk, capital, and other subject matter experts to address complex analytical and reporting questions.

  • Incorporate accounting, regulatory, and capital considerations into portfolio reporting and management analysis.

Portfolio Reporting and Analytics

  • Maintain ownership of recurring portfolio reporting and analytical deliverables.

  • Analyze portfolio composition, production trends, credit quality, prepayments, maturities, payoffs, and concentration exposures.

  • Develop meaningful management insights and commentary from portfolio data.

  • Enhance reporting content, visualization, efficiency, and usefulness for senior management and other stakeholders.

  • Support preparation of presentations for REFG leadership, senior investment management, and third-party clients.

Process Improvement and Stakeholder Management

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, controls, and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain and enhance internal databases, models, and reporting infrastructure.

  • Collaborate closely with Origination, Credit, Accounting, ALM, Capital, Performance, and other business partners.

  • Present analyses, conclusions, and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Real Estate, or a related discipline.

  • CFA, CAIA, MBA, CPA, CRI, or similar professional designation preferred.

  • Significant experience in commercial real estate finance, insurance company investing, portfolio analytics, asset management, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of commercial mortgage lending, fixed income concepts, portfolio analytics, and credit risk.

  • Knowledge of IFRS 9, expected credit loss concepts, and NAIC statutory accounting treatment of commercial mortgages preferred.

  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with VBA, Power Query, Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
