Our Product Designer (UX) Internship provides hands-on experience creating intuitive, user-centered digital experiences that serve clients, advisors, and customers across Manulife Wealth & Asset Management. Working alongside Senior Designers and Design Leads, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that shape the future of our digital products, including secure client platforms and mobile experiences. This opportunity is ideal for students who are passionate about user experience design, design thinking, and digital innovation and are eager to build practical skills in research, prototyping, testing, and visual design.
You'll gain exposure to the end-to-end product design process while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product, Technology, Research, and Design. Through real-world projects and mentorship, you'll develop the skills needed to launch a successful career in UX and product design.
Position Responsibilities:
Define, design, and test digital experiences for Manulife Wealth & Asset Management's diverse audiences.
Collaborate with Senior Designers and Design Leads to conduct usability reviews, user research, and user testing activities.
Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and design documentation using Figma.
Support the design and delivery of new digital experiences, including enhancements to existing websites, secure platforms, and mobile applications.
Partner with designers, product owners, and technology teams to identify user needs and translate them into effective design solutions.
Facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions, and user testing activities.
Contribute to the end-to-end design process, including research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, validation, and visual design.
Analyze user feedback and research findings to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of design quality and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
Demonstrated interest in user experience design, product design, and digital experiences.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and rationale.
Creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for designing user-centered solutions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn and grow as a designer.

Salary range is expected to be between:
$40,950.00 CAD - $56,550.00 CAD
The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. The annual salary will be pro-rated based on the length of the work term.
