We are currently seeking a candidate for a Director position on the Portfolio Strategy and Management (“PS&M”) team within Global Private Investments division. This individual will be exposed to the private investment platform, including each of our asset class sleeves (currently inclusive of private equity, real estate, private credit and energy transition and infrastructure) as well as working across the full investment organization. The PS&M team partners across asset class sleeves to add value by leading overall portfolio strategy, portfolio construction and analysis through identifying investment trends and opportunities as well as driving the transition to analytics driven decision making focused on capital creation for private investments. #LMI

Responsibilities:

  • Play a leadership role in the development of a best-in-class private markets portfolio management platform, fully integrating key systems and empowering the development of insights that drive alpha
  • Deep knowledge and experience across the growing private credit opportunity set and throughout the lifecycle of investments merged with a focus on data and analysis to drive investment decision making
  • Build robust relationships with LMI product, data and technology organizations to ensure a seamless link of key business requirements focused on the data and analytics that drive the success of our businesses
  • Lead as well as support the analysis of actionable recommendations surrounding portfolio construction decisions and exposures for all private investments
  • Ability to leverage various private market datasets, tools, navigating both academic and external research literature (Takahashi-Alexander, Keenan Flagler PERC) to provide relevant, real-time analysis impacting portfolio and investment level decisions
  • Lead the evolution of management reports and analysis, including quarterly results, plan/forecasting, capital and liquidity monitoring, risk metrics, portfolio composition and pipeline management
  • Effective and consistent communication across GPI, LMI and LMG, looking for new ways to support innovation, critical thinking, and execution of the private investment’s mandate
  • Continuous focus on improving existing processes across private investment lifecycle and challenging status quo

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a leading institution (MBA preferred)
  • 8-12 years related work experience in investment management or reporting functions with prior experience in private investments
  • Significant financial and operational experience across private investing with particular emphasis on private credit. Detailed experience across the private credit space, including structured products (ABS, CMBS, CLOS, RMBS), direct lending (unitranche, first-lien, second lien loans) and broad private corporate credit transactions
  • Strong experience in private market systems /data / tools / visualization / platforms
  • Excellent communication skills (written / verbal / presentation) Ability to lead and manage multiple responsibilities and time-sensitive deliverables with a high degree of quality and accuracy
